| Stumbled across this while reading news today, and thought I'd share. This highlights the importance of microchipping and keeping the info current.

| I'm so bad, I don't have mine chipped yet. Willow goes to the vet next Saturday so I will see if she can get done then. |

| I've heard multiple stories of chips malfunctioning in some way shape or form. We live just down the road from our vet, and I need to take Ghost in for happy visits, because she has been terrified of them ever since her spay. I plan on having them scan from time to time just to make sure the chip is ok, especially since we plan on travelling a lot with her. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Microchips can also migrate so if they can't pick it up on the back where it was implanted have them run the scanner all over the body to see where it ended up. I know a lady who had her dog chipped and then some time later the scanner wasn't picking it up where it was injected. Turns out it had migrated to her dogs foot. I have mixed feelings about microchips, for a flight risk dog I would more than likely have it done but otherwise I would not. My sibe is chipped, my chi girls are not and I do not intend to have them chipped either. _________________ |
