Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I took Niko out beside the bike today just to see how he would do up and down the driveway. First of all: I'm WAY more out of shape than I thought. Second: I am totally having hubs help measure him for a harness tonight! I can't WAIT for slightly warmer spring weather, and for the frost to get out of the ground and the trail behind our house to firm up!

In the beginning, he kept wanting to run out in front of me, but when he ran out of leash and felt a tug on his collar he stopped in his tracks. And I almost ran him over. After that he figured out to stay beside me, or up even with the front wheel. We did 4 trips up and down part of the driveway (it's a quarter of a mile driveway) and I didn't want to over-do it for me OR him, so we came back into the house. He's been lying next to the couch asleep for an hour now. Very Happy

So, now I have a question. Should I get an 8ft or 10ft skijor line, or the 6ft scooter line from alpine outfitters? 6ft seems short for reaction time for ME in the event that he stops suddenly, or veers off-course.

We started biking with Isi about two weeks ago, on days when I do a workout other than run with her (some nerve I have, huh?) We are hooked as well, if only because it's a lot of bang for your buck in terms of time for husky exercise Smile I can't wait to get a longer line and try on the trails. She pulled me (as in, I didn't pedal at all) for about 1/4 mile, then ran beside me after she got that initial energy out of her system. She goes completely crazy when she sees one of us get out the bike!

Haha that's cute Smile I'm really looking forward to wearing him out on the hill I live on. He can help me get up it and then we can glide down. Smile
