| Claudia, this is Way Cool! Where were the pix taken? Now switch out those shoes for some skis, and you can rodeo! It feels like taking your life in your hands at the start, but after a mile or so they settle down. Mt. Hood only has 16 inches today, but supposedly, we're getting big dumps this week. |

| We're staying at the Ritz in Bachelor's Gulch, Avon in Colorado - a little staycation for my birthday weekend. The hotel is at the base of one of the ski lifts, and there are residences along the base of the mountain which is what you see in some of the pictures in the background. Since it's early season, and this lift isn't open yet, we have the place almost to ourselves.
We are definitely going to try out skijoring this season!

| Claudia, that looks like so much fun! Looks like the kiddos really had a good time.
Sigh, I need to move back north... Here's to roadtripping to Chicago this Christmas... _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. I do enjoy snowshoeing! And I think I'll really like skijoring! Did you know you can burn UP TO 800 calories/hour snowshoeing?? Yep! That means I can have a big, fat, juicy burger and fries after showshoeing and not feel guilty! _________________ |

I wore snowshoes for the first time when we climbed Loge Peak in Aspen this past June. I was whipped!! There are pictures of Aaron struggling with them on my FB page _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Great pics! Mine are so use to skijoring or sledding that I think they would pull me down if I tried to snowshoe with them! |

| I ordered the x-back harnesses from Alpine Outfitters. If you're thinking about getting them, they'll take at least 2 weeks, but now that it's sledding season, you may be waiting a little longer. Other places you can get x-back harnesses are Nordkyn and Adanac Sleds. I'm partial to Alpine Outfitters - if you can wait. I believe all are mom-n-pop shops.

| Claudia, I also got Adobo & Biko's x-backs from Alpine. Have a question though does the color of the inside part of the harness rub off on Ginger & Storm? I'm presently getting my 2 ready for the winter and took them out both days this weekend to get use to the harness again. Adobo & Biko's neck and chest area look like they haven't had a bath in their lifetime. |

| No, the part that crosses their chest is fleece lined and does not discolor their chest. Nor does any part of their harness.

| The fleece (the soft fuzzy stuff)is the part I'm having trouble with. I had noticed it last winter but forgot about it until I noticed Biko's chest area was turning black (his harness is green) from wearing it this weekend. Maybe I'll toss it in the laundry with my work clothes to see if I can wash the loose dye out of it. |

| The photos look amazing, Claudia! Kudos to you for your great photography work! Of course the subjects are also looking great too. I'm partial to Alpine Outfitters also. Dakota's x back is a custom order from Alpine in all black and I've also never had any issues with color rubbing off onto his coat. I know winter is the worst time to order in that it's their busiest season but I ordered my x back on December 11, 2009 and received my order on December 28, 2009, so it took a little over 2 weeks which isn't bad at all considering I ordered in the middle of their busy season. _________________ |
