Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

My son was so proud to finally teach Frankie something. They worked so well together today. I hope to do it again soon.
Once we got Frankie through the tunnel, he loved it and kept going through.

Awwww - adorable! And that IS Zoom Room! Both my kids took classes there! Very positive environment! Your son did a great job, can't believe it's Frankie's first time!

Thanks guys. Frankie did pretty well for his first time. It was a lot of fun but I don't know if we could do it regularly. To work with a trainer at the facility is way out of my budget. I don't know if I could do something like this in a group. Frankie would be way more interested in the other dogs than the equipment. But I will try to do a private rental again. They said you could bring friends for the private rental so maybe I will see if I get some others to join us to split the cost. 2-3 other dogs that Frankie already knows shouldn't be a problem. It's just those very hyper little dogs you typically see in agility that make Frankie crazy, he totally feeds off of their energy. Then again, maybe he would chase them through all of the equipment to complete the course, lol.

That is sooo great! Dee, your son and Frankie are totally adorable. I have friends, without sibes, of course, who are way into agility. There's a place near me that's actually not that expensive, but, yeah, the other dogs would be a major distraction. Winter's too young yet anyway. Maybe someday....

They generally have an Intro to Agility single class to see if you're dog will be ok - they're all all leash for the Intro and Agility 1. Chili was interested in the other dogs - but more because he saw them getting treats. He's very jealous of other dogs getting treats. We did well, though - he could focus for about 45 min of the 1 hr class - the last 15 min was challenging. We bonded quite a bit in the class - definitely glad we did it!

And you can do open gym time for $6 an hour to run him through the equipment - in the early morning hours are generally dead and you're on your own.
