Saw a flyer hanging in our neighbornood last week about a missing black lab, she ran away when the family was involved in a car accident. I took down the number on the flyer and Libby and I went out for walk and drives calling out for her, with no luck. Just saw on facebook from Lost Dogs Of Wisconsin that she was found deceased not too far from the accident site on the side of a road. It just breaks my heart knowing that family wanted her back fo badly and probably didn't get much sleep during that time to find out this outcome. I have to say at least it gives the family a little closure knowing she is at peace now waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for them. RIP Casey.

That makes me sad that noone seems to care. A few houses down from me, I hadn't seem their husky puppy when we went for our walks and say the owner to find out that she had ran away 9 days earlier and they couldn't find her. He never put up signs. The next night I saw him and he said she appeared on their deck at 4:30am with her back paw all cut up. He took her to the vet and she was in surgery to have a few toes removed. The vet thinks her paw got stuck in a trap. She was so afraid to come near anyone after that. Now she sits on thier porch waiting for Libby and I to stop and say hi. She has healed up great. Libby has helped catch her 3 more times since then because she keeps getting out. All I have to do is say her name with Libby here and she runs right over. I never see them walk her and have been tempted to offer to take her with me but I don't want to over step my boundaries. I just feel bad that she never gets the proper exercise. Just glad she made it home, since they only had her a short time. I would have been knocking on every door asking for help. She is my baby.

I would totally ask if you can take her. Just say that Libby would love the company. When in doubt, blame the dog My neighbor (I don't talk to my neighbors...there is some distance between us) came by one day with a flyer for his Jack Russell. I scanned it an put it on FB and checked under my house since we thought he might have gone there during the storm the night before. The signs are gone, so hopefully they found him (plus I do hear two different yaps sometimes). Another time I first responded to an accident where a couple had their 3 ferrets and a cat in the car with them. I grabbed the ferrets and put them in my truck so they wouldn't get loose but we couldn't find the cat. I asked them which vet they went to so I could deliver them there in the morning since they went to the hospital. I put them in the dog crate with a make shift litter box. Shadow kept vigil, lol. By the time I got to the vet the next morning everyone knew who I was and what I did.
