| Hi everyone, my name is Mick and together with my wife Terry, we are owned by our pack of 12 Dreamcatcher Siberians ( http://www.dreamcatcher.org.uk ). We also have a Shiba Inu and an 8 month old Leonberger puppy. We have been involved with Siberians for almost 20 years and have owned them for 16 of those years. . During that time we have both worked and shown them with some success. Since February 2007, we have also been heavily involved in the running of The Siberian Husky Welfare Association (UK) - the biggest and busiest Husky Welfare project in the UK. To date we have rescued and rehomed well over 300 unwanted Siberians. ( http://www.huskywelfare.org.uk ). My "raindog" screen name is a reflection of one of my other great enthusiasms - music, and the fact that I am a huge Tom Waits fan. We look forward to some interesting discussions. Here are some of our dogs: Traditional English "mud huskies" Our youngest acquisition - Bam Bam Our Leo pup with her best mate Diva Our young boy Basil pulling our granddaughter Lily Dry-land racing Our son, Jayson running a two-dog team Another son, Robert running four dogs on snow (a rare occurence in the UK) Spoilt - our dogs? | Welcome mick , great to see you and yourever growing pack x
For a dog that has the runs make sure he is up to date with worming and you cant beat some good old raw chicken wings They will bind him no end and then you may want to consider changing food as it sounds as though its not agreeing with him. It could just be the upheavel that has caused him to get a bad tummy but it will most likely be the food. |

kind regards Kevin Portsmouth UK First of all, Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. @ Kevin - as Huskylove pointed out above - raw chicken wings are an excellent way to get rid of "the squits." Combine this with a pro-biotic yoghurt drink each day - this will build up the necessary bacteria in the dog's gut. There could be a number of reasons why your dog has this problem. Overfeeding is a very common cause - especially in young dogs/puppies. I would try him on a different food. With huskies we have always found that the economy of buying cheaper food is a false economy. The higher the quality of the food, the less the dog needs, so the less you use and it often turns out cheaper than cheap food (most of which ends up as dog pooh and gets thrown away). We use a german made food called "Best Choice" - we also feed it to all the rescue dogs we foster and usually send them out to their new homes with a 15kilo sack. You can get the contact details of the supplier from the front page of our website - it is well-worth a try. Mick |

Hi Catherine, We've been so busy with welfare lately that we haven't entered many shows. The next one where we have a few dogs entered is Horley & District Open Show at the South of England Showground at Ardingly, Sussex on Sunday 30th August. We've got Diva, Basil, Summer, Merlin, Ute, Chrystelle and Simi entered. Mick |

Mick Thanks Mick I am doomed to not see your pups - thats my daughters birthday weekend and I am committed to having a group of 10 year old girls sleeping over at my house! I would much rather be at a show Can you keep me posted - I am sure one day I will be able to come along and hug one of your huskies lol Cheers Catherine |

| If you fancy a day out doing loads of dog-related things, we will be at Paws In The Park at The Hop Farm in Paddock Wood in Kent on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September. We will be doing a big Welfare fundraiser for SHWA(UK) and we'll have all our dogs there with us. There's more info here -http://www.pawsinthepark.net/
