| Hi, I'm new here and live in Louisiana. I have a Siberian Husky Yukon, who is my third husky. I think that once you own a husky they own your heart. My huskies were Juneau, Kodiak (who died on her birthday on the kitchen floor) and I thought that I would die with her, my heart was broken, but I got to her before she took her last breath and I think that she knew that I was with her in her final moments. The house was just so empty, the cat (Sage) missed her friend and I was just so empty in my heart. My hopes of finding another husky looked slim, but I saw an add in the paper for a lady about 100miles from me in my State that was a husky breeder and was on the phone in a heartbeat. That Sunday in May I got Yukon (who is just a little odd for a husky, hope to tell you about her odd ways later) but I love my baby with all my heart.
I hope to be a good member, get to know ya'll and your pets and look at some beautiful pictures of your pets. I will try to attach the first picture that I took of Yukon before we started the long ride home. After I got her in the car and she stopped howling for her litter mates she slept on my shoulder the ride home and I kissed her on the head and loved and tried to bond on the ride home. Also I would like to share a picture of Kodiak, who I still miss with all my heart. Sorry I just read that we can not add pictures...Sorry I need to read more of the rules
Thank you for letting me join your board. |

| Welcome! Can't wait to see more of Yukon! I have problems with the pictures, too! But only on the first post. Try to post again and, if you are like me, the option to post a pic is now there! I know it's odd and the nice moderators of the forum have asked me to send them a screen shot of my page, but I am a slacker! |

| Thank you for the welcomes. I still don't understand how to attach a picture, just not a computer smart person. I need to take care of my other pets..I raise orphan animals and release them on my property, they have 5 acres to run and play. I can't wait to share stories of Yukon, believe me she has done some funny things. |

| Hello new member, I also just joined today and enjoying all the blogs and pictures. I am so sorry to hear about Kodiak. I think a pet is one of the hardest deaths to deal with because they give you nothing but love and affection, no matter what our moods are for the day. I also am trying to get pictures up and loaded. Hope to have them soon. Welcome! |

| Yeah it is definately and interesting walk, between the leaves falling and all the squirels running around hiding nuts. It gives me a little extra exercise. |

| Welcome! So sorry to hear about Kodiak. What part of Louisiana are you in? We are in Pensacola, FL but travel to New Orleans fairly often because Aaron's parents live there. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Trying photobuket for Kodiaks picture, this picture thing is hard for me to understand, sorry. Can someone please help me with pictures, sorry to be such a pain. Robert I tried photobucket and it didn't work. I see browse and I go to my pictures in my computer, I select the picture I want open it and it does not post to this board. I use to live in New Orleans in Jefferson Parish, but now I live on the North Shore of the lake. I live in Ponchatoula, La. it is a small college town but I live more in the country, not in the Parish limits. We got hit hard by Katrina, and still trying to get back to normal. I guess that I can just post and not put up pictures. I have questions about Yukon, she is a different breed of husky that my other two that were laid back dogs. She is very protective of me and will bite anyone that tries to get near me. She can be anywhere in the house and if she thinks that my husband is getting too close to me, she is by my side in a minute growling and she had bite him, she is such a good dog for doing that. I hope that if a strange tries to attack me and I have Yukon with me that she would attack that person, which is just odd for a husky to be like this. |

| I will try this one more time, don't want to waste your bandwidth with me being so silly with my pictures. I know that bandwidth is important to a board (moderator at 3 boards) and I will not use yours with me being just someone who can't learn.
Nothing again, I used the sixth one over took my picture from my folder, copied and tried to paste it to the url and nothing, sorry members. |

Nothing again, I used the sixth one over took my picture from my folder, copied and tried to paste it to the url and nothing, sorry members. Your doing this right? To upload a picture from your computer: 1. In your post, Click on the button with the picture and the floppy disk. 2. Click browse 3. Select the file you want and click open 4. Where it says "Resize the image" select 640 pixel width (that's the proper size for this forum) 5. Click "Host It" 6. There will be three options that appear once the file is uploaded. Highlight and copy the second option. 7. Paste the entire option into the body of your message. You're done! please dont leave us. the girl Tori who started this thread is off getting married tomorrow and will be back next week. im sure she could help you out. please hang around and post in some threads. at least we can see your avatar. sorry i can't be of more help. _________________ |

| You didn't copy and paste the entire url of the photobucket link. It only shows "http://i553.photobucket/" you should have a URL ending in .jpg or .gif. You should be able to right click on the pic once you upload it and put copy img url. |

| Thank you all, I really like this board and would like to stay here. Ya'll are all so nice, I'm just having trouble with my pictures. I get hit browse in my computer, but what do you mean by a floppy disk?
Maybe if some member has the time and is willing to call me. Is a pm syteme here I would give that person my phone # or I could call them (I have free long distance) and I promise that member that I would never use their phone# again and delete it from my phone. Maybe they could walk me thru either photobucket or taking pictures from my computer.
I don't want to leave, I really like this board. I was so happy to find a board about huskies because I love the breed so much and want to talk to people who feel like I do. The other boards that I belonged to were pet boards and you could talk about all type of pets, mostly squirrels. I rehabber squirrels so that was find to a point, but I have had a husky in my live for nearly 20yrs and my huskies were just a side item. When I lost Kodiak it was just a passing item and my heart was broken and they just didn't understand that she took part of my heart with her. Kodiak has been gone nearly 2yrs now and still I have tears in my eyes as I write this, she was my rock when my Dad passed away. After Katrina (I never want to live thru a hurricane as bad as that again) I started to lose my pets, I had to pet my lab down, my American Eskimo and than my cat and Kodiak was my last pet and my rock again. I felt bad for her she lost all her friends also so we took a throw away kitten to give her a friend, than she passed away and the cat (Sage) was now alone and like I said the house seemed so empty.
Yes I could of gone to the shelter which was overloaded but in my heart I knew that I wanted another husky, it took me 8months to find that add in the paper for husky puppies for sale. When we finally got to this breeders kennels, I heard the howl of huskies (to me the greatest sound in the world) she had four puppies and I picked the first one to come to the fence and lick me and that was Yukon.
I told my vet that I blamed him for getting me hooked on huskies, he called me about a husky puppy he had that the breeded wanted put to sleep because she was caught between a red and grey and she could not sell her. I took the puppy and that was Juneau, I don't understand someone that cold hearted that wanted a puppy put to sleep because she couldn't sell the puppy. Juneau grew up to be a beautiful grey husky and she had her red periods. She was a great husky I thank all my huskies that let me share in their lives, they all make me a better person. I want to thank all the members that have put up with me and the Admin also. I really want to be a member of this board.

I'll put a picture posting thread together with all of the necessary screen shots this morning. Morning mountain time that is. There seems to be a few folks that it's not working right for. |
