2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! Rogue's spay! Empty
PostSubject: Rogue's spay!   Rogue's spay! EmptySat Oct 01, 2011 9:42 pm

So we picked Rogue up at 3:20PM today.. I expected her to be SUPER groggy, as when Koda has gone under before for his teeth and when he got spayed he is a mess of a dog! Can barely walk, cracked out eyes, and just sleeps for an entire day! Rogue came out the door and quickly tried to jump in Koda's face and kiss him and then try to jump in my lap. She was whining insanely though. She seemed perfectly like her usual self aside from a little swaying and the unusual whineyness. She is not happy I left her, I can tell.. because I can NOT go out of her sight now without her crying!

She was super hungry when she got home and I can only feed her half her PM meal (and I skipped breakfast), but may feel her the other half in an hour or so if she seems OK.. she was NOT happy about that! She is now banned to her doggy bed and has been chewing her himalayan bone while whining randomly. We don't think she knows she's whining as it doesn't sound pain related.. just maybe a reaction to being out of it, sort of like how humans laugh.
Only time she seemed in actual pain was when she went poop.

Overall she is doing good though, I'm just too concerned about checking her incision constantly! I wish she would just go to bed though and relax! She's been chewing on her bone since 4PM!

Glad she is doing well! I totally understand the worry though. Tambi has to have some teeth removed in 2 weeks and I am going to freak out all day! Also not looking forward to Limbaugh's neuter in a couple months! Hopefully she goes to bed soon and lets you sleep. I remember when our first mal had a HUGE cyst removed form his hip and I was up all night sleeping next to his crate because all he did is cry all night! Oi...the things we go through for these guys! Worth it though Smile ! Good luck on a speedy recovery!

She was up wandering til about 11 (we headed to bed around 10:30) but then I said no more and shut her in our bedroom and she went to bed til about 7 when I got up to give her her rimadyl. Ate fine, went potty fine, actually very normal in all aspects- she isn't whining anymore either! She keeps trying to play with Koda so he just goes out on the porch where he prefers to be anyway and Rogue says inside. Her incision is looking great and she hasn't touched it once, which is a relief! I just hate how much was shaved off her belly though, hopefully it grows back fine.. her fur is pretty long and gets messy so I can't really blame them.
