Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | Is there a cliff notes version? lol I'd read the first paragraph and it seems like it's interesting enough but I don't have enough time to sit down and read that much! _________________ |

| lol. Well he goes into the different things you can breed for like racing, working, show, or artic. Also he discusses the different points of view on "working" like if racing, the way most people race their dogs, should even be considered working your dog. _________________ -Sara |

| Found the article interesting although somewhat unrealistic. I feel that breeders of most show conformation dogs do try to maintain conformation standards, but to say that the emphasis for all Siberian Huskies should be working dogs (sled pullers) as they were thousands of years ago means that my Texas Huskies existence is pointless (even though they are beach dogs lol) Skyla comes from a show line but she shows the independent nature and prey drive typical of the Sibes I read about in the breed history. She also can pull like nobody's business and I hope to do carting with she and Braiden when she turns two. Sibes continue to be very intelligent dogs, capable of participating in many different activities and their affection for people and doggie friends continues to this day. To try to pigeon hole them into one purpose only, such as racing or sledding or agility is to ignore the versatility of this breed. The one given would be that breeders should continue to breed for a healthy dog with sound bodies and temperaments. Another given would be that Siberians will never be lap dogs, content to while away their existence on someone's couch. Owning a Sibe is not for the faint-hearted nor should it be. There are plenty other lap dog breeds for those who are so inclined. |

| ^ My thoughts exactly. My Florida huskies would be useless too! lol. I thought he at least did a good job showing the different point of views, cause I know a lot of people hold different point of views with sibes as a breed (really any breed for that matter). _________________ -Sara |
