| So, Labor Day weekend was a great weekend for us. On saturday we went for a warm up hike along a little river. It was fun, but no pictures. On Monday we finally rolled out of the house around lunch time for our hike up to Scout Falls. This was Appa's first real hike and he loved it. He also came with trail etiquette, impressive. He was barely interested in other dogs, and would scoot to the side of the trail to let people pass. We were very pleased. So, without further ado.... PICTURES! Just heading up the trail. The weather was PERFECT. Multiple streams along the way, Appa wouldn't stop drinking out of them. Once he did he was less than interested in the water we brought with us. He also loved to dig in the streams. He was a muddy mess by the end of the trip. Straight to the bath before he even entered our house afterwards. At the falls. Good view! These are the falls at the top. I love how they are staring at eachother. This was the only tricky spot of the hike. The handle sure was nice. Thank's Ruff Wear. |

| very fun! how many miles and how many hours was it RT? did the trail go under the falls? love that pic of your wife and him with the falls.
i noticed you had him clipped on the metal bracket, when we hike i clip on the back loop of the harness, i think it works better with the pull/weight of the pack. _________________ |

| It was a great time. Thanks for the tip Jenn, I've wondered what that loop was for and if it was load capable. I'll give it a go this weekend on our next hike.
Appa is 8 months old now, and last we checked he was 60lbs. He's still got some puppy knee action going on, so he has some height to go still, and definitely some muscle to fill out. We think he's going to be a big guy... |
