| I just bought a bag of Blue Wilderness to try out....I paid $29/11 lb bag and that was a discount pet food outlet and with a $2 coupon. If I multiply that by 4, that's $116 for 44 lbs of food. Granted, if you buy the bigger bag, it would be less but if you look at the most expensive formula THK has which is Zeal, it's $98 for the 10 lb box with makes 43 lbs of food. So in reality, they would probably be about the same if I bought the bigger bag of Blue Wilderness. I also did the cost per pound against Orijen and I calculated that Zeal came out cheaper than Orijen!
I'm not sure what you pay for TOTW, but calculate per pound and see what the difference is vs. THK. I'm thinking it isn't going to be that much more.
I'm glad they liked THK!

| I've been trying to calculate but i'm still really confused as to how much THK I should give them a day
currently with tax, I spend around $43 on a 30lb bag of TOTW and that lasts us almost a month with between the two dogs, 4 cups of food a day.

| That's what I've been doing with Kale for about a week now. TOTW Sierra Mountain formula in the morning and THK mixed with 3/8 cup TOTW at night. He's been doing great! I'm so impressed with the quality of the food that me and my mom are considering transitioning the cats over to Prowl by THK =D!! |

With THK as a full meal, I would only give my Koda (53lbs) about 1 1/4-1 1/2 cups a day max (of Zeal). When I first tried THK in 09, I tried giving Koda 2 cups a day (this was when he went to daycare for 8 hours a day 5 days a week, 4 miles total of running with me a day, and hiking 2x a week, so VERY active) and he pooped like 6 times a day HUGE poops and usually not firm at all. When I went to this forum and people started feeding it, they only gave 1 cup - 1 1/2 cups total if feeding it purely (or that would be what they would if not feeding kibble). Right now Koda only gets 3/4 cup Zeal because he gets a little less than 1/2 cup of Ziwipeak in the AM. When I did Orijen, I did 1/2 cup of Orijen in the AM. All I gotta say is DON'T follow the guidelines, lol! Dogs will shit all over! |

| Yea I completely agree. The guideline is way too much. I feed Kale 3/4 cup THK with 3/8 cup dry mixed in and it has been perfect. |
