Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| I hope he quits it soon. This is a very stressful week for me and I know he senses it. Next Monday I have a national board certification exam to take. I took off of work this week for my final study crunch. I know he and my son have not had my full attention. but this crap is not helping. I have been trying to make sure Frankie gets his exercise and I take time out to play so that he doesn't tear up the house. I guess right about now I would take a torn up sofa over this. At least I would know he was home.

| I feel your pain, Dee. The first year we had Koda and he stayed with Jarod and his god-awful mother, she would let him out AT LEAST 3-4x a week from opening the door wide open when coming in and practically inviting him to run, leaving the gate open, something or another.. got to where Jarod would lock his mom out of the house (yes, serious) with the dead bolt so he could grab Koda first, and if he wasn't home we had Koda at daycare. Thankfully she will never be around my dogs and doors ever again |

| I'm just catching up with this thread from the beginning, and OH.MY.GAWD!! My heart is pounding in the pit of my stomach just reading this entire thread! I'm relieved to hear that he's home and am happy he is safe! Storm doesn't really bolt - he casually walks out. In fact, the front door wasn't latched and flew open and Storm decided to take a stroll down the street. This about a month after we adopted him. Thankfully it was when he really didn't run because he was still 100+ lbs But hubby went out, saw Storm 3 houses away and when he called Storm, he came bumbling back. WHEW! Ginger was just sitting in the dining room looking at the front door open. Thankfully, she doesn't really bolt out anymore....however, hubby did get cocky once and opened the front door wide open, turned his back on Ginger and she thought it was time to go for a walk and she ran past him. Hubby went running after her, went as far as the park across the street where Ginger taunted him as if she was saying, 'catch me if you can!' Luckily, she's has pretty good recall with me! I stood in the driveway, called her to come and she came running back to me...WHEW! _________________ |
