| I will not be nearly as good a Harrise with describing our hike but though I would share anyway Danielle, Ken and I meet in Boulder with our dogs Gunny, Sierra, and Jack at about 9 am and carpooled to the trail well at least I tried to but went the wrong way at first, after finding the trail and a parking spot we got the dogs out and leashed up to start our first hike with our dogs and for Ken and I the first one of the season which is sad to say. It was warm all ready and we headed up the trial. Making sure to give the dogs water before starting and then again before we stared the steep part. The dogs did a great job and Sierra was even hoping up some parts which made my job of keeping up with her harder! I should not have spent 2 hrs at the gym on Sat. and then not getting enough sleep! We took a few breaks in the shad to let the dogs (and us) recoup. It was not super busy as we were heading up the side most people choose to come down. We made it to the top and headed back down. That was the part I was worried about since the dogs acted like they did not just clime a mountain and were still full of energy as we were running low and the way down was not easy as there were deep steps and slick rock to watch out for. We got to one area where Danielle and Gunny got a head of us cause Sierra got scared and would not go around this boulder to get down the trail! She had gotten scared before but after watching her mommy take the steps she would follow, but not this time. Ken climbed back up and picked her up and carried her down, I don’t know what I would have done if he was not with us! Then she was back to bouncing down the trail, that silly girl! We got down and it took just over 3hrs and it should have only taken about 2 but we stopped a lot on the way up. We had a ton of fun and will take them with us again! We go camping in 2 weeks so we will see how that goes. Jack checking out the view on the way to the trail Ken Sierra Jack and I before we started the incline, first "family"photo as well! Ken Sierra Jack and Gunny taking a break on the way up Sierra and Gunny Sierra Jack and Gunny at the top! Gunny ready to head back Jack was tired after the hike |

| I told Danielle to post her pics... I hope she does all the ones of her are on her camera since I took them for her! Yes that backpack is familiar and was way too big for Gunny! I told her she should get a new one but he still walked ok with it. The one Jack has we got at petsmart and it is a Med. and was still a bit loose around the belly for him I hope he fills out some more. they were not to dirty from the hike but we all washed off a good layer of dirt from our legs! Sierra and Jack got a bath anyway after that since it has been about 6 months since there last one. |
