| http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/28898/ i have these. and the yellow ones you posted. any bulb plant or ones that need dividing are always lowcare. look at some ferns as well not sure if you get to much sun for those. morning sun is the best. my fron yard gets morning sun and it grows the best then my back yard that gets late sun mostly shade _________________ |

| What if I did a row of ferns in the back and then the salvia, lilac and day lilies in front?
I LOVE FERNS. And our front yard gets all morning sun. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| depending on the fern height it would get over grown by the other plants but it would be a nice low lying plant to fill in the space between the house and first row of plants instead of looking at mulch. as far as height the lilac will be the tallest followed closely by the slavia (mine are close to 2-3ft) then the daylily is the shortest but still a taller flower. i would look for some low creeping spreading flowers. Creeping Phlox has done well in my yard and comes in a lot of colors _________________ |

| John decided that flower boxes are too expensive But we'll definitely do them in the future. So back to square one... gonna just have to go to the store in 2 weeks and see what we got! _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Okay... newest thoughts are day lilies on the far ends... salvia in the middle, and tiger lilies next to the stairs with small flowers along the edge out front.
In the future, window boxes, but funds are very low right now and I don't think we can afford it just yet.
Thoughts? _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Oooh- I like the creeping phlox Jenn... I missed that before... I might have to add that around. Oh right, and John really wants tulips in the front... I need to space them out accordingly so that something is always in bloom. I know the tulips bloom early while the lilies bloom later _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Yes, annuals are plants that will not come back the next year so you'll have to replant the following year. That's the extent of my gardening knowledge _________________ |

or as i like to call it a waste of money! yes you have to replant every year and if you get them small you have to wait all summer to see something, i like annuals for window boxes or flower pots, not in the yard. but thats just me. _________________ |

| Okay! That one's out then.
John's one concern is I guess the winter look of the front yard? He likes my idea, but he's concerned that since they only come up in the summer... should we be getting some evergreen for winter appeal? _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| tori, look at my karl foerster grass (just posted pics)! you can leave it all winter and it just gets brown but you keep the fuzzy leaf at the time and it makes for a great impression in the winter with the movement. i cut it back mid to lat march for the new growth to start in April.

| Tori i love the big purple lettuce things! leave them, the evergreen bush will grow up and fill in, but for now i love how much space they take up! and i have that little fence for my veggie garden and it kind of works for keeping them out, good luck with koda! your hostas look great. _________________ |

| Oh I've always wanted a pond but I didn't even think about Faolan playing in it. He totally would, especially with fish in it. It's a cute pond though! |
