Okay so... This is something seriously wrong with Shelby for the past two nights she has pooped all over her self in her crate, and she sleeps in it. She doesn't cry to get out or anything she will just poop and go back to sleep. It is so NASTY its runny and smells terrible. Last night i swore she had pooped in her crate i woke up numerous times of the night checking on her but nothing she must have had gas then i woke up this morning to her laying in her poop!!! We have not fed her anything different since we have had her so i don't know what has made her poop runny. i watch her constantly so i know she couldn't have gotten into anything. I have no idea whats going on with her. PLEASE HELP has anyone else's husky done this?

Aevyn did this a little while ago, and it was absolutely horrible. We ended up having to leave him outside for the night because he was going like every 30 minutes and we weren't getting any sleep trying to clean it up off of white rugs. Ugh.

When I called my vet about it they said to stop feeding him completely for 24 hours, but provide plenty of water, of course. After 24 hours you give them very small, very bland portions of rice and boiled chicken. If their stomach can handle that and things start going back to normal, continue with rice and chicken for two days or so, and then slowly work them back to their regular diet.

They also added that if it goes on for more then 2 days to get a sample and go to the vet, but Aevyn responded quite well to the chicken and rice. But that first 24 hours of nothing was horrible - poor guy started doing EVERYTHING he'd ever gotten a treat for in hopes of food.

In the crate, out of the crate, in the crate, sleeping in crate, hoping into bathtub, sitting in bathtub, giving us his paws, sitting handsome, bring us his toys - it was so cute, and so sad. ;-;

Is Shelby's poop always runny, even if she goes during the day? Or is it only at night when she's in her crate?

Be careful about giving rice, as often times Sibes do not tolerate rice very well, and will end up causing more diarreha or throwing it up. I'm not saying all Sibes, just some, as in the case with my female. I gave her beef and rice and she didn't poop for almost 3 days and on the 3rd day, she threw up everything for the last 48 hours.

If Shelby cannot tolerate rice, you can give green beans or carrots. Make sure you buy no or low salt canned green beans or if you buy the regular green beans, rinse it well. You can par boil the carrots if you want to do carrots instead (carrots will come out looking the way it went in).

If she responds well to the bland diet for 2-3 days (longer if she's not all firmed up by then), slowly add back whatever kibble you were feeding. I'd start off with 1/8 c and transition more every 3-4 days if she continues to do well, while backing off the bland diet as you increase more kibble. I don't remember how old Shelby is, but if you decide to do eggs and beans/carrots, you could give her 2-3 eggs and 1 cup of beans or carrots 3x a day. You want to make sure you give her protein and fiber to keep her moving, and volume without too many calories.

If she shows no other signs of being sick (energy is normal, she's eating and drinking OK, etc.) she's probably not liking something in her kibble. But if she shows other symptoms (lethargic, sniffling, not eating normal amounts, or drinking water, etc), take a sample of her poop and bring it in to your vet for a full fecal spectrum test.

If at any time she goes soft again, back off the kibble, and reset her. If she goes soft, her tummy isn't agreeing with something in her kibble. This can happen where they develop an intolerance to something in their kibble if they are fed that particular kibble for a long time. This is why a lot of people like to have rotating diets.

If she does not respond well to chicken and rice, or chicken and green beans or carrots, try scrambled or hard boiled eggs. It's a neutral protein. Some dogs can be allergic to chicken - as my female is intolerant to chicken in kibble form but is OK with chicken if it's freeze dried, dehydrated or raw.

Limit the ingredients you give her to start so you can figure out what's causing her to go soft. This is the hard part and it's trial and error but be patient.

Her poop has been solid since the day we got her, it didn't start getting runny until yesterday and its really bad, I think she is sick though she keeps coughing and sneezing. When we were at the vet last time they gave us pills because she had "kennel cough" she took them for a week but I haven't seen any change. I made another appointment to get her in and checked out. I don't know if you saw a previous post I made but I think she could have a possible ear infection as well.

And on top of all her sickness, I think she hurt her foot because she is yelping and limping now LOL. I think she was playing rough with our other husky or something. But I'm hoping its nothing serious she is a drama queen. If u touch her the wrong way she yelps and limps haha.

My poor puppy is just having the worst luck right now. But we will def. have to try out the less food maybe it will help her tummy, i sure do hope so she just looks so pitiful.

If she's coughing or sneezing and/or had kennel cough, please take her to the vet and bring in a fecal sample at the same time. In the Denver area, a full fecal spectrum test costs about $40-50. It would at least ease your mind to know she doesn't have IBS or pancreatitis or worms or anything else internal wrong with her.

Make sure they do a full spectrum fecal test...which tests for any intestinal issues, IBS, pancratitis, giardia, etc....not just worms...

thank you! I know last time I think they just tested her for worms. I am worried about her she keeps crying. I see the vet on Monday thank goodness.

Good news!! Shebly took a trip to the vet! She has ear mites so now she gets ear drops. The vet said her cough is still kennel cough and it just take a while to get over it. AND there is some type of bug in her stool so she gets pills to get rid of it!

I am so happy it was nothing too serious! we will have a healthy puppy soon

I'm not sure about bugs in stools, but with worms, you need to pick up their stool right away if she goes in the yard...best to be safe and clean up after her ASAP to minimize bug re-infection...

yup yup she is! she is a healthy wild puppy. She is still getting ear drops for her ear mites she has 2 days left on them. Other then that she is great! As sad as it sounds i like her sick better because she was more calm then LOL! now she is getting into EVERYTHING and she loves MUD! she has had three baths in the last 5 days!!

You got yourself a mud-puppy! Be carefull not to give her TOO many baths, or make sure you use gentle all natural shampoos if you're giving her a full bath. Too much bathing can strip away the natural coating on their coat that conditions it and naturally repels dirt and water. So if you must because she's taken a mud bath, just hose her off with water.

Maybe you need to look into investing a high velocity dryer too Hose her down, and blow out all the water and she's dry in 15 minutes!

she is so dirty haha and she loves being wet she dumps the water bucket over and lays in the water haha she is a mess.
