| I'm in search for an extra tall dog gate so I could keep Triton in a closed off area in my house. Although, everywhere I'm searching, the "extra tall" gates only range from 34 inches to 42 inches. Triton easily clears that height at a standstill! Thankfully, the area I'm trying to put up the gate is not an extra wide area, it's only 3 feet (yay!). Anyways, has anyone found a REALLY SUPER TALL dog gate? Or have an idea on how I can make one? |

| We always just stacked to regular pressure gates in the doorway to make it super tall. I have yet to find a super tall gate made for dogs _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I think that's the tallest you'll find. Like Tori says, you'll probably need to stack 2 tall pressure gates to make a really tall one.

| Oh that makes so much more sense- and more affordable! Hopefully I could just find standard ones on craigslist!! Thanks!! It saves me a DIY project! I was over here googling DIY dog gates and very tempted to start busting out tools and wood!! But, if anyone is looking for a DIY dog gate, and something more permanent than a pressure gate, I found this youtube video. Seems like you can definitely modify to your own height and width Annd decorate it just as girly as she did if you want! Hehe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mb9aBVT9Xy4 |

| We have the 42" walk through gate with the cat door, it works to create a safe space for our cat. We discovered our dog can also squeeze himself through the cat door, so now we bungee the opening off so only the cat can use it. Anyway, it's a great gate and I'd highly recommend it. |

I found my 30" tall gate on Amazon. It's extra wide to fit my hall, but if you only need standard sizes, I'll bet you could find 2 for cheap either on Craigs list or Amazon - check for regular baby gates too as they may also be cheaper. _________________ |

| Walmart has babygates for $10 last I checked, ours has held up for 2yrs so far. We put it on the steps so they can't go up when were not home. As far bas I know they have not tried to jump it. That and I put it taller in the step to make it bigger. _________________ |

| I don't know about your Walmart, Jenn, but our Walmarts are selling really short baby gates now. I bought the baby gates at WM in 2007 and they are taller than my sibe (I dont know the exact height) and I just bought a couple more baby gates about a month ago and they are half the height of the baby gates I bought 4 yrs ago and the new ones have plastic grids instead of metal like my old ones. Same price but now they are so much smaller and cheaper material. _________________ |

| Nice! Does that mean that you can't get through that doorway either?

| Wow, your entryway looks like Ft. Knox! Just hope Triton doesn't learn to climb... |

| Tiffany I know its a bit more expensive but what about installing and half door? They stand much higher than the standard gate and usually have a ledge that would make any attempt to jump it more difficult. |

| That's what we have, half doors! In between the kitchen/dining room & kitchen/bedroom. Hubby bought a solid wood door CHEAP, because of minor damage, cut it in half, bought hinges & installed slide locks. What's real nice is you can install it a few inches off of the floor to add height! Just can't leave too much room underneath, as then they may try to chew upward, which is what Sisi did.... Nothing beats coming home & seeing their little faces on top of the door. Too cute! |
