2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Hey there....I'm having a bit of a dilemma and don't know what to do.

I found a female pitbull running across a busy street and she has no ID or dog license. It looks like she was tied up in a yard and the tie broke which was still attached to the collar. She was super friendly and got into my car where my husky was without any problem.

I know what I'm technically supposed to do is call animal control to pick her up. However, a few things have me wondering whether or not that's the right thing to do. Pitbulls are a restricted breed here, and owners have to pay 250$/year for their license as opposed to 35$. I'm wondering if that might be why she doesn't have a dog tag. If I bring her to the pound, they will fine the owners 500$ and if they can't afford or didn't want to pay the dog license fee in the first place, they may not be able to pick her up. And the last thing I want is for her to be put down...

So...what I've done for now is put a ton of posters up with my info, posted on craigslist and kijiji...and hoping for the best. I'll be going to the vet tomorrow to see if she is microchipped but I highly doubt it. I have a feeling she was one of those dogs that was tied up all day long:(

Do you guys have any other suggestions? I'm at a loss on what to do....

That is awesome that you would stop to help! I would try to find a local pit rescue, or the closest you can find. They are generally very helpful, Especially in areas that have bans/restrictions. My sister has a pit/boxer mix (Bruiser's littermate). When she was moving from FL back to to philly, she was having problems finding an apt because of the dogs. She contacted a pit rescue who was able to give her lists of pitbull friendly apartments in the area she wanted to move to. They responded to her with a list fairly quickly. I think this is the site she went to:

http://www.pbrc.net/

I hope it all works out. Thank goodness you found her first.
