| After spending the day yesterday with a CraZy pup, (Short story: not enough exercise in rainy VA for a 6 mo. old pup over the course of three days) my husband said that he was going to stop at Petsmart on the way home from work and get a harness so he could take Sabaka running in the fields at the sports complex near here. At first I was unsettled because I am a researcher (and , actually, so is he) and I felt I had not done enough research. I aslo had a fear of spending too much money on something he will grow out of in a month! I knew Bob had been looking at the Kong brand and my only hang up was "Kong makes toys, not leads!" I had read many reviews online and there really were hardly any complaints. Some of you girls will appreciate this... I told Bob if he got a harness, he needed to get the matching leash. He was planning to get GRAY...okay...no! So I told him gray and copper clash and we settled on a lovely turquiose. But I digress. Who cares about the color? I really am loving this thing! I thought if you put a harness on a sled dog he will pull. Well, Sabaka actually does not! Apart from the fact that it seems to be working really well for him, it is so well made with many awesome features. The leash has a snap buckle on the handle loop. How cool is that is you needed to hook him to a fence post or something?! My favorite feature is an adjustable rubber grip on the leash that I hold with my left hand near the dog. When he bolts I don't get " leash burn" on my palm! The harness appears very comfortable and comes with a seat belt teather to use in the car. All of these Kong products have reflective stitching. Hubby was kind enough to also get the matching collar!! Yay! Hopefully I will continue to love this product. I usually wait longer to form opinions, but unless these totally fall apart, I am now a KONG fan. |

| Awesome insight Lisa! I don't have a kong lead or harness (just the toys) but I know people who do and they are great. I wouldn't mind getting some myself one day, but I'm not the type to have many different harnesses, leads, collars, etc and we've already got several. Can you share some pics of the set? Preferably being modeled by a pretty husky? I'd really love to have a 6 ft lead that won't give me burns or hurt my hands from a crazy pulling husky. So you guys got this Kong lead at Petsmart? I might have to check it out, mind if I ask how much? I have a Petco coupon for $7 off a $30 purchase, but I know Petsmart accepts competitor coupons. _________________ |

I bought EZYDog 24" standard and mongrel extensions for my 2: http://www.ezydog.com/fxstore/category/114/Dog-Leashes.aspx The mongrel extension has a built in bungee so if you have a puller, it won't yank you too hard, or yank on a collar too hard. The Neo Mongrel and/or Mongrel handle is nice because it's padded and you can really hold on without hurting your hands. What I will do is use the standard and mongrel extension, and when I want to shorten it, I'll just clip it shorter and make a look with the standard. If I want to go even shorted to keep either or both of them at my side, I'll just clip the handle to their collar. Makes it nice because you can easily shorten the leash while you're out walking. _________________ |

| Claudia, that leash system looks sweet! I'm just happy that I am this pleased with this spur of the moment purchase from Petsmart. I literally never find anything I like at Petsmart! I usually have the dog on my left, leash loop in my right hand with the leash stretched across me when we walk. Doing this means I have to use my left hand to occasionally correct his position or grab the leash if he goes after that little girl in the purple Barbie Jeep. The rubber grip is on the leash and I can adjust it up or down for comfort. I will take some pics! It will have to be another day since the Mom taxi must take off again soon!! Holy Cow... Just looked at the receipt and all three pieces totalled $68!! Online prices are: $35 = harness $25 = leash$12 = collar We must have done slightly better in the store. |

I really do like this system from EZYDog. I also like the harness they have with the chest plate as it's adjustable up to a wide range and it comes with a seat belt attachment to hook up in the car. Both harnesses and leashes made by EZYDog has a reflective material and stitching so you can somewhat be seen at night if you don't have a safety light. I also like their easy fit harness, but, I don't need ANOTHER harness... _________________ |

| Pictures! He is NOT a fun model. He's got that "My harness is on...why are we not walking??" look going on here! There is a mesh-lined chest plate. The picture from the front was a disaster... This is the rubber grip on the leash. The snap on the leash's loop for allowing a pole or something to hold your dog when you need both hands! Love it... |

| Lovely pics! Wow he looks like he really lightened up comparing that pic to your avatar! Ha ha and Faith has the same bowl (the metallic champagne Bella Bowl)! We have 4 Bella bowls (cocoa for water, grape for Dakota, blueberry for Glory, champagne for Faith) and I love them! The leash and harness set look awesome, my apologies for making Sabaka wait for a picture request! I love the flowers in the background too! _________________ |

| Val, I'll pass along your apologies! haha That bowl set went out to the deck because as a pup he kept picking up those bowls and spilling food or water all over the kitchen floor! I had to get weighted bowls for inside! He's on his way to the vet right now for a weight check and heartworm and flea/tick meds. This was supposed to be the month that ended his manhood but I'm going to wait until June when our schedule is less hectic and we can be home with him 24/7 after his surgery. Yes, he is MUCH lighter now! I don't even know when and how it happened.... |

| I'm glad to see a review of the leash. I bought the harness for 1) the color (also have the turquoise) and 2) the built in seat belt thing. That is what I use the harness primarily for is seat belting. I was thinking when I get the new harness (growing puppy) I might get the leash too. |

| Heather, I still use the harness for walks and love it! The rubber grip on the leash is great, too. It's funny how the hubby uses the rubber grip differently than I do, but I think we both like it. Of course, I had all this matching stuff, so I had to get the matching collar as well! I still have not teathered it in the car yet (bad Mommy!). I keep looking at the attachment and thinking, "How does that work?" How DO you use it in the car, Heather? I need to take it out to the car and figure it out sometime when I don't have a hyper dog with me.
I noticed the halter on Stormy right away. What a cutie he is!! Have fun with him... they grow FAST! |

| He is fun. I currently just run the center lap belt (center seat belt) through it. He is really good at not turning around and getting it twisted so far. Running the regular seat belt (shoulder & lap) didn't work to well for him, but I believe that he is just to little for that yet. |

| I dont mean to bring up an old thread, but we just bought the same one. Its actually the same color too. It was only $32 which is hard to beat. It fits very well and seems very comfortable for our nola. She does pull things, so the fact that its so strong and has metal clasps is a big bonus. I guess we will just have to wait and see if it holds up to her pulling a sled this winter, but I dont see any flaws to it and the store employees had a lot of good things to say about it. |

| Since this thread came up again...
My 6-month update: I still am very pleased with this product. It is showing what I would consider to be normal signs of wear. The metal loop on the collar to hold tags or snap on a leash as well as the metal ring on the harness used to be coated black. The black is wearing off. However, even the way is is wearing is not annoying... it is not flaking... it just looks "rubbed" off in places. The most annoying wear to me is the stitches of reflective material near the edges of the collar, harness and leash are breaking in places. This does not effect the use of the product but, upon close inspection, just looks bad. The leash is affected worse, probably due to it bending in all different ways or the rubber hand grip sliding up and down its surface.
Sometimes I still can't believe I'm not regretting this "impulse" buy... |

| I bought the sane harness for Neo and loved it, it was the only one I found with a metal buckle and not plastic, wich he snaps in a heartbeat. I did end up returning it because the pack I bought come with one, but not because of the product. |

| We just bought the collar and leash, back when we first got Ghost in June and we love them. Ghost outgrew the collar a while ago, but we just used it as a "hand me down (up maybe)" to Lulu. Lulu will probably be able to wear it for years since she doesn't mess up collars much. The leash gets used almost daily (because Aaron is lazy and only walks the dog when I force him, can't wait til I can walk again), and is still in great shape. We've been nothing but happy with our Kong stuff. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I have the same Kong leash that you do, only in Pink I have the matching collar as well, I was going to get the harness but I want to wait till shes about as big as my pup is going to get, thanks for the info. I'm still debating between the "as seen on TV perfect harness" vs. the Kong harness though.. decisions decisions. |

| We got Aevyn the collar when we first brought him home, the leash came a few weeks ago when we seriously needed to upgrade from his very cheap original one.
However, I'm curious about the harness. I currently have a harness for Aevyn that stops him from pulling, and that's a feature that's lacking in the Kong Harnesses. Does the harness work for you simply because your dogs have learned not to pull now? |

| Nola pulls but not bad, if I raise my voice she stops. I actually got it for her to pull, she pulls my son in his wagon and in a sled in the snow. I wanted something that was strong, comfortable and could be used for walks as well as pulling. |
