| Murphys law seems to really want to emphasize itself when it comes to my greenhouse. 3 weeks into the build and i have 2 corners up and cemented in, 1 hole almost done and 1 that is about a foot and really has me scratching my head. Im not sure if a rock the size of a bowling ball is a rock or small boulder but thats all im pulling out of the holes. Then they got deep and narrow using a big ship auger bit on the drill so im digging the holes with my hands after loosening stuff up with the drill. Several trips to several hardware stores and i cant find flush joists for a 2x10. Since most of my lumber is 2x6 stuff i got ones for a 2x6 or 2x8 and tie plates.
I keep looking at blueprints and im really short on lumber, im just not sure how short yet because all the blueprints call for all 2x4s and i dont have a single 2x4 but my contractor friend told me i could raid his lumber pile (its more like an organized used lumber yard) but he also pointed out that im going timber frame hybrid so i need things in places the blueprints dont have and i can space my vertical boards farther apart then a stick frame.
I have a major scab where my thumb got rubbed raw by the drill. I thought this would go up in a week and i just keep running into problems and 3 weeks later its barely started.
And yeah i know there are rock drills and hydraulic augers and jackhammers but i dont own one, cant afford to buy one, and i dont know someone i can borrow it from (or have a towball to go pick up a rental one) there was a fence company that offered to do it at $200 per hole but cant afford that either with the stupid jeep breaking.
Nothing to do with the greenhouse but the newer cherokee trailhawk is not ment to leave the pavement. The alignment is unadjustable and there isnt any aftermarket parts. And when you look at the suspension parts on mopar its street/softroad rated and specifically says not for offroading. That vehicle was a huge mistake. So looking for something better for offroad that i can do an even trade with my jeep and isnt super expensive to fix when it breaks. As much as i want a truck, jeep wrangler parts are cheap and truck parts are not. Mechanic cost is the same. Also lots of 2010 to 2014 wranglers with under 70k miles for what i will get for my jeep. Havent seen many full size 4 door trucks that dont have super high Mileage. My dream vehicle is a ford e350 4x4 van that i can have somewhere to hang out in at the va parking lots and use it for overnight camping. Lots available not many with 4x4 and none in the region.
Between the greenhouse, the jeep and trying to find a job i feel like a failure. I discovered that im qualified for quite a bit but most of it is stuff my back cant handle. And most of the stuff that doesnt want a college degree wants experience. How do you get experience if everyone wants experience. I had a first interview with the animal shelter but its up in the air if hr will recommend me to the hiring team. So im gonna call workforce colorado and maybe find an internship or see if they will help me with money for technical degree in autocad. Anything that can go wrong is going wrong |

| That was us while trying to move 3 years ago. Selling house was a nightmare, offer come in then fall through at inspection because people think homes should be built to Illinois standards even though not in Illinois, then next offer need super insane fast close which was nearly impossible to accommodate, then our loan fell through because we made too much money both on the house and at our jobs so had to swap loans in the final 24hrs before close. We were 4 hours from being homeless with 3 dogs and two cats. When it rain, it pours. _________________ |

| So the job i was convinced i blew the first interview for with dumb friends league called yesterday and i had a second interview (that im also convinced i blew) today. Found out i am 1 of 4 perspective applicants and they will let me know either way the end of next week. Big r called me within an hour of putting in my application and hired me on the spot. Then today called and asked if i wanted to go into management trainee track. That job i have dumb freinds league pays more, will be more enjoyable, but i have a 25% chance at that. My mechanic thought he would be able to bore an oblong hole into the strut to fix the unfixable jeep. Such a weird pipe in a pipe with a plastic clamp thing. If i want to replace the knuckle and the upper control arm it will ultimately fix the problem but im not in love with the jeep. So now im hunting for something that is capable of handling a 4x4 road (not a really bad one (bit it broke a ram 1500 and a cherokee trailhawk)) multiple times a day every day with less then 80k miles and in the 26k price range. I want an older full sized bronco or jimmy and take the money left from the trade in on the jeep and set it up the way i want. Greenhouse is on weather related pause.
Sorry for the ramble i biked 12 miles today and it hit 87 and thats 11 miles farther then ive biked in about 10 years. Its been a weird day. |

| I've been keeping an eye out for an older (like 80s era) large body bronco but they have gotten pricey if they aren't junked around here. Husband is tired of my explorer, but the X has been a hell of a truck. Go anywhere in any condition and keeps my butt heated while she does it. Not sure I can afford to give up the two rear doors since I drag the dogs around is my largest concern with going to a bronco, but I don't want to spend the money on a new explorer as I feel the newer stuff, even if it says super off road ready, they just aren't. Though the new ST model has got some giddy up. The X is up to 356k miles and it's motor rebuild time. _________________ |

| Im looking at early to mid 2000s f250s and 350s with the turbo diesel. Still gonna have 100k miles on it. But i can do an outright trade. Whatever i get has to have adjustable suspension. If it does i can just fix it instead of having to replace a stearing knuckle, upper control arm and probably a strut every 30k miles. And new tires every year. I keep looking at wranglers and thinking how do i get 3 dogs and squirt in a crate in a wrangler if we have to evacuate. That and it wont tow a horse trailer and now that i have a job i can realistically afford to board a horse but vets dont do house calls and the elk ranch doesnt really have room to ride. Not seeing any duramaxs in the 100k mile range in my price range and wont go near a dodge even though the cummins is a great engine. I do know if i was going to look at something new that claimed to be off road capable i would find out if they can adjust the camber and castor or just the toe and if it cant is a kit avaliable. Thats the problem with my cherokee. Id also look at specific parts because i found out every part of my suspension is labeled "not for offroad use" and again no aftermarket parts. I went from a Silverado 3500 to a f250 4 door 12 foot bed to a suburban 2500 to a Sierra grande 3500 to a ram 1500 to a jeep car. Im not a jeep person and im not a car person. I fell for the wanting something new instead of wanting something practical.
Ironically my hubby is ok with a horse, but not me wanting to breed Ayam cremeni chicken.
Any advice on how to convince someone to give you an internship when they aren't looking for an intern and you have very little experience with the comp program and none with the experimental 3d printer? |

| The way to become an intern with no experience is to become a volunteer and do it for free. Then once you have wooed them go for the paid internship or straight up job.
We have a '94 f250 and a 2004 dodge. Hard to find anything that old with 100k miles or less. Gotta try to find some old person who only used them to pull a camper on vacation. Our f250 was that way. We got her from some folks who only used it for vacation. It had 40k miles on it. It's up to a whopping 68k now. The dodge on the other hand is sitting at 400k miles and we've used the crap out of her. Been a great truck, but she's the cummins with the allison transmission. _________________ |

| The best trucks ive seen so far were at rv dealerships and most had the head or atleast the rails for a 5th wheel. I havent thrown dodge out the door but i did notice there were alot less kits for a dodge vs a ford or chevy. And it seems like the gas engine is mostly standard in both the ram and the chevy.
I finally got splinter a cardiology appointment but its not until September. I can get him triaged with cardiology before his appointment through the emergency hospital in Colorado springs. Saturday night, i thought he was going to die and my vet was worried about a heart attack so gave him 100mg asprin and he got worse. Yesterday it was like it never happened but he started with the coughing last night again but it stopped in about an hour. This am he doesnt want his breakfast but did eat some of the freeze-dried food i use as treats and pumpkin.

| What I've noticed the last couple years since pandemic started is if you want Diesel you are going to have to travel for it more often than not. Many got picked up by guys for over road trucking during the pandemic since semi drivers were short and you don't need a special extra level license to tow with the big diesels. A buddy of mine was in the market for a new cattle hauler a year ago and had to go to New Mexico to pick it up.
We often have a 2 week wait for appointments here at the vet for about anything unless emergency related or, since Kenzi is diabetic, they will get her in immediately for pretty much anything because little things can become an emergency very quickly. _________________ |

| Im not sure why they didnt want to me to bring him in other then the ski hi (pronounced sky high)stampede was going on and it was the 100 yr anniversary. If it happens again im going to the emergency clinic thats part of the specialty clinic that has on call specialists. Its a 4 hour drive. Im having his labs and xrays and report from the visit 7 weeks ago to maryland for a 2nd and 3rd and whoever else looks at it in an office of 12 vets. Things have been missed and yeah that happens but options were not put on the table in some cases under the assumption i couldnt afford it (and ive never not paid a bill in full immediately) or if i could i wouldnt pay for it anyway. So its making me wonder of we could have found this out a year ago when he started having major issues if they had been less worried about what i could afford and instead just asked if i wanted it done. I found out after the fact i could have saved shadows vision. It would have cost about $100 a month for the rest of his life but of the 3 vets that saw him then, no one mentioned it. Splinters issues were attributed to epilepsy, accidental thc overdose, and aging (in an 8 yr old small terrier) and its a heart murmur and either the beginning of dcm or heart failure.
Funny because we may end up buying a truck in new mexico. Its cheaper then colorado. I have someone in a dealership thats part of the acquisition team looking for me also. They really really want to buy my jeep. He is having a hard time only because its less the bells and whistles and more about the mechanical specs. Like one requirement was that the suspension is fully adjustable in camber castor and toe. 4x4 locking rear front locker would be nice but not required and good aftermarket part selection for when i break it. Its not like thats asking for a whole lot but then factor diesel with less then 150k miles and ac at under 28k selection dwindles. They exist its just gonna be atleast a hundred miles away. Everything goes for a premium in the mountains. Even the subaru dealer that wants my jeep is almost 200 miles away in montrose. |

| Yes murphy was an optimist, which led to ill preparation, and became a self fulfilling prophecy that becomes a Schrödinger's cat situation where it can be neither proven or disproven. So being an optimist is bad and leads to hopeful thoughts rather then proper steps and precautions and preparation.
Whats funny is how it applies to physics AND philosophy at the same time. Yet another paradox.
Actually as 1 disaster was fixed we had a cascade of minor things. And 1 that could have turned into a major thing. Ac went out in new truck. Couldnt reach the charge port so brought it in. Turns out belt snapped (minor) but serpentine belt was starting to wear ( could have been major) so changed all the belts and tensioners. Jerry just spent a week in the hospital for one of the worst manic episodes ive ever seen in 12 years. I had to take off because of spider and i didnt get fired. Electrocoupler? Went out so i have a toaster instead of an oven until the part comes in. Jerry is still very manic. Told my boss after something happened (that was rude inappropriate and uncalled for by both me and the person on the other line(from the Alamosa store)) dont mistake me for someone who needs this job, and still have a job.
And then i have 2 projects underway that counter each other to an extent but one involves getting benefits to veterans that served during peacetime the additional benefits given to all other veterans, and one political movent that advocates for a set period of martial law to fire everyone in congress and the senate and rebuild as a more centrist govt based off the constitution, with term limits and fires anyone that arbitrarily votes against something just because someone else did vote for it.
Sometimes i think my political movement is so far out of reach but then I remember that our district elected Lauren boebart. And i work in a gun/hunting/feed/hardware store so i know alot of people and it seems most of rural southern Colorado is fed up with both sides.

| I tend to agree with your last statement a lot of the folks here in SW Texas are just as fed up. (( Do we have a border law or not? )) We're reaching the point, I think, that a Convention is in order but I'd surely hate to see the Constitution that came out of a convention at this point in time! Ouch, are we way off topic?!?!?!
Yep, I see the problem with a serpentine and raise you a tensioner - no, you did the tensioner as well. I was driving home a few weeks ago and my serpentine slipped the tensioner so I was stranded but at least I was on the main road.

| And the main belt and the accessory belt. 4 belts in total all tensioners 15 quarts of oil, new oil filter and new exhaust filter. Getting almost 17 mpg now.
Squirt turned 11 yesterday and spider has major diarrhea still so calling the vet this am hopefully things can line up today or tomorrow with my appointments and the vet having an opening but it might have to wait until monday next week. Im beginning to wobder if she developed a chicken allergy.

| Well trip to springs for splinters cardiology appointment. He has a degenerative mitral valve (b1) and grade 3 heart murmur, no sign of heart failure or dcm. Does have suspected vasovagel syncope and a list of stuff to have him tested for. Spider got left home with jerry and shadow and was ok according to jerry. She is getting better about separation from splinter but has been basically touching him since we got home.
Got the estimate yesterday from the getting slammed into by a subaru Forrester aka a tank last week in the walmart parkinglot. It was such a weird accident. They were in front of me at a stop sign and a truck with a big 5thwheel went to make a left and the lady thought they couldn't make it and slammed into my front when she floored it in reverse. Broke 2 pipes and bent my very expensive ranch hand brush guard. They want to go through insurance so doing that crap but to replace it with the identical one plus freight is $2900 and then the pulling the old one and putting on the new one is $500.
Spider is mostly feeling better i think but we did run into a sudden dog food change situation. None of the dogs are happy. The particular lir essence i get is backordered everywhere. So shadow is getting inception pork and i wanted squirt to eat it but she wont, but she will eat the orijen regional red i got for spider. Spider wants the inception but it has oats so she cant eat it and splinter i have to cook for. I miss when all my dogs ate the same food. Or atleast ate the food i gave them instead of trying to eat what the other is eating. |

| I hear you on the same food business. Both mine are on different foods as well. For the most part everyone knows to leave the others food alone but I have to be on top of kye because he might leave a little piece of kibble behind in his bowl if he's in a hurry and I have to make sure kenzi doesn't eat that or it can shift her sugar numbers around. _________________ |
