Squirt is gotten to where she is the straw that keeps breaking the camels back. Im about to bring the crate down or buy 2 8 ft cattle panels and 2 baby gates and block her in a 3 ft by 8 ft area. Im actually undecided about which yet. Every day squirt is peeing on the floor. Today in the 3 hours between when she was out and when i let her out again she had peed twice. Like full blown puddles. I really wasnt sure what was incontinence and what was her having an attitude issue until i took her to durango 3 weeks ago. For a week after she did not pee in her bedroom. Then the last 2 weeks even though i let her out about every 2 hours and every time she scratches the door, she is peeing 3 to 4 times a day in there during the day, but manages to go from about 9pm to 6am with no incident. So i think if i switch her to a smaller space. But is the crate better or a 3x8 run? And what is the potty schedule for a dog that turns 11 in sept?

If my fence wasnt in danger of falling id do a dog run outside and she would be an outside dog. Everyone i know thinks i should put her down for the behavior issue. Is this a drugs will help issue or is this a back to housetraining issue

Ah, welcome to the world of seniour dogs! Sky is better than 12 years old and has always have a "leakage problem" and Proin helps that considerably. Now though I'm having a problem with getting her to go out since she's immediately "attacked" by Zeus. So I end up with wet spots on my poor kitchen floor ... this poor floor has had something like 30 years of abuse by dogs and I'm actually surprised that it hasn't given up the ghost with me going through it.

Grace was into dog rescue and from comments I've heard the kitchen floor was always either wet or "dirty". Then when Sasha got too old to handle the steps (or the ramp) easily it became her "urinal."

My last resort was to crate the two culprits (Sky and Zeus) until I was sure who really is the culprit (and it appears to be both!!) so I'm thinking that for a while until they get the idea that they're going to be crated when they're inside. Not what I want to do but I'm reaching the point that enough's enough.

My take one your questions is that what you'll end up with is an 8x3<??> that's not going to look or smell pretty; I'd go with the crate.

Diapers? I go with crate. Or blocking her or off from the streets that she habitually pees in. Z'ev is almost 14, Ami will be 11 this fall. Ami had no potty issues. Z'ev intermittently, sort of in spurts, will poop in the house. I call it walking poops. He actually seems to be trying to get to the door but he's always had the walking poop thing. Leaves a trail. But now, vet thinks it's a matter of not getting the signal he needs to poop in 'til it's happening. I'm very fortunate - no pee and serve poops are very firm and easy to pick up and dispose. God help me if it were Archer - the king of the pudding poop

So kenzi occasionally has issues with peeing in the house on the long days I'm gone. Some was blood surgar spike in the afternoon causing her to down a lot of water and then need to go and another issue was she doesn't like to go down the stairs and would put off peeing before I would leave. I would run her off the porch but she wouldn't do a quality pee and would instead do a little trickle then rush back inside. My first step was to close off all carpeted rooms and treat for possible UTI, which did help a little, then I changed feeding to mitigate the sugar spike, which helped a lot, then I started walking her a half hour before I would leave to make sure she fully emptied her bladder. Finally, I opted for potty pads in the spots she was going naturally. The food change/UTI treatment/walking helped a ton on the amount she was going while I was gone and now she only occasionally has one pee on the pads. I hesitate to crate a dog that has no control over their peeing because then they stand in it. If I think a dog is possibly doing something out of spite then I'm more inclined to crate.

Im bringing the crate down tomorrow and im going to build an indoor dog run with pallets. Also i need to set up a vet appointment to check that there isnt an actual problem. This has been an issue with squirt before kinda of. When she was younger she would revenge poop on my pillow if i didnt take her with us.

Good news i dont have carpet in her room. Bad news is she is peeing along the walls so the drywall may be screwed up and the baseboards definitely are.

We did try the pee pads in the spots she pees in and all that did was make her go to a different spot, or she would pee next to it where the top would be dry and the underneath would be stuck to the floor.

And more along the long term, im looking at a hammer drill/ rotary hammer to get the fence fixed and then put a smaller fenced in area up front and make squirt an outside dog.

Peeing along the walls and going next to something sounds mildly behavioral and considering she has a history it could be a combination of both behavioral and a little medical. A crate maybe a good option for her. I will be curious if she goes out in the crate. Usually if they will go in a small space like a crate then it's legit too much to hold but if she holds it in the crate then I lean more behavioral and she would just lose all rights to being loose at my house while gone.

She went blind at about 3months old.

Was there a reason? I have a blind dog that started going blind around 4 is now almost 10

All I've been told that it could be genetic.
