| I have been understanding, forgiving until today. Supposedly, he doesn't get the signal he has to poop and it just happens. Welp. The last 3 times, last night, this morning and this afternoon, he's been outside for a good amount of time, walking around, playing a bit with Ami, searching for Ami's buried bones. He comes in the house, goes into the front hall and poops! I finally lost it and hollered my head off with profanity to make a longshoreman proud. Which did not make hubby happy. He said I was mean. It now seems less accident and more deliberate. So old man has bought himself a house leash and confined to whatever room I'm in. And I need to buy another baby gate |

| Well, you are mean!! But I completely relate. Since Zeus came to visit, I've had problems with Sky - she doesn't want to go out (where she'll be attacked by the monster!) so I end up with messes in the house. The solution, in my case, seems to be taking Sky out, on lead, and taking her for a walk. I wish it was just me and her but the little butthead accompanies us (I need to put him on her lead before I take her out!) Sometime during the walk she'll relieve herself and we're both happier.
Are you getting the baby gate for your 6 year old, isn't she too old for those to work?? _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Nope. Baby gate is to keep Z'ev in the kitchen when I'm in there - damn dog has thumbs. The house has settled and that door latch doesn't reach the strike plate. So I can push it shut but he wraps his part around the edge and pulls it open . Buying a baby gate is easier than chiseling out a space for a new strike plate. Cause I'm lazy. |

| I'm not sure I agree with vindictive on Z'ev's part. Sky is often one of those "Oh, I should have gone while I was out." kinda girls. Like Z'ev, I think it's a matter of old age and forgetfulness (damnit!) and other concerns (being irritated by Zeus.) Of course, with Grace's (the woman from whom I indirectly bought this trailer) personal problems in her old age her dogs shat and pissed on the kitchen floor. Add insult to injury, Sasha did as well ... I didn't want to keep her restrained to her crate 'cause she would have 'accidents' in it which made it miserable for both of us and it was so hard to get her out when she needed (it would take several minutes sometimes to get her leashed and down the ramp, by which time nature had run its course.
Zeus is gonna drive me to drink (or worse!) He's good about letting me know he has to defecate but I've had him stand right beside me in the house and urinate. I grab his collar and we walk outside but by then the well has run dry. There's got to be a solution here but until he connects "I gotta piss" and "I have to go outside" I can't see it getting any better. He has free run outside and if he goes to the door (and I see him) he gets out without question.
