| He is 2 years, and every year when the season gets really cold, he turns into a different dog.....a wild dog!He is more calmer during the warmer month's but now that it got cold, he has to sniff everything, zoomies, his pulling is so much worse, commands won't work any more and worse he would sprint to the end of the lead over and over, HE JUST WANT'S TO RUN AND BE FREE. Haha Whenever I ask those who own other breeds, if they're dog is the same, they just say their dog acts normal whether it's summer or winter....So I wanted to ask my fellow husky owners, and see if they go through the same thing! |

| So does your husky have papers? Squirt does get more active when its cooler and well spider does do all that and then some. Like knocking things over, walking across the coffee table, literally bouncing off the walls and the sofas, and annoying the hell out of shadow. And then the answer to everything is this impish grin followed by ignoring me and continuing to do whatever she is doing.
I also deal with something called winter wolf syndrome with spider and that is an outright temperament change. Resource guarding and hoarding, being possessive of people, eating alot more, getting pissed at the other dogs more easily, snapping at shadow for bumping into her, and being easily annoyed and prone to fits of pacing. It happens every year around now, it alao signals she is going to go into heat soon. It stops in the spring.
That was the only reason i asked about papers. Some of your other posts also, put together, would have me dna testing your dog. No dog is perfect and lc wolfdogs are passed off as huskies all the time. Most dogs have some type of reaction to weather changes and the seasons. To some extent even my boys (terrier and germ shep) are more active in winter. How much spider is a factor in that i dont know. I do know when it snows my boys are nearly impossible to get back inside without a bribe. |

| @Lostmaniac WOW! Spider and Squirt sound like two awesome dogs....but a handful. Haha My husky came with papers and I got to meet both the parents and both looked like well bred huskies, the dad was agouti. And besides the behavioral differences/quirks my husky looks like a pure husky; weights only 60lbs, no long legs, blue eyes etc. Here's a pic of the crazy: |

| If you put an adhd 3yr old into a husky you would have spider. I wouldnt call squirt a handful, shes a blob in the house and the Energizer bunny outside. Shes very well behaved in public. She just likes killing other animals. If it wasnt for the vet issues id rehome her but even in her situation she is very happy well taken care of. Its like a kennel situation except she has 2 windows and a queen sized bed and a bedroom. We evn got the vet situation fixed, it makes the vet visit fee alot higher but worth it. |

| Ive come to the conclusion all animals act weird when the weather changes. For the last 3 days in a row, spider has been nose to nose with a lame doe. The terrier barks the deer comes running over. And now her little buck fawn is doing the same. Cant get a pic though because she is terrified of me and the second i walk outside she leaves. |

| Mine aren't wild. Getting to old for that business, but they do spend more time outside on the porch just soaking in the colder temperatures. _________________ |

| So when does the wildness stop? Spider will be 6 on feb 17th. It would be nice to not need to have all the furniture against walls. |

| Ami is 8. Zev almost 12.
Most of the time, sedate. But. At least once a day they get rambunctious and I open the back door hollering, and pointing, OUT!!!!! |

| Totally! During the hot humid summers here, he plods slowly around and will cut his walks short. At 90F+, he will even refuse a walk. In the fall/winter, he think he's training for the Iditarod! We do hourlong walks at a brisk pace with some running and trotting. His favorite temperature is about 30 degrees F... or lower ... So I am a lot more fit in the winter than in the summer (kind of the reverse of bathing suit fitness, I guess! ). @dinf22 Wow your husky's blue eyes are really striking!! |

| Definitely a difference between seasons. In the summer, mine are happy to lay inside where it's a little cooler (although I do have a sunbather). In the winter I can't get them to come inside and if I do, they just want back outside. Activity levels are also much higher. |
