| Hi Everyone,
I adopted my siberian husky, Kira, about 6 weeks ago. She is now 15 weeks old and is such a sweetheart. She was doing so well in her cage every night not making any messes and noise was at a minimum. In her first 5 weeks she never made a single mess in her crate.
The past 6 nights, every single night she has pooped and then layed in it causing me to start every morning with cleaning the entire cage and then give her a bath. Her stool has been pretty loose making it that much worse. Im not sure what I can possibly do to stop this from happening.
She is on the same diet as she has always been on (nutri-source puppy food), she is on a schedule and has ample opportunities to relieve herself before bedtime (11pm). Her cage is partitioned so her space is limited and I have also tried feeding her chicken, rice and pumpkin to fix her stool. None of this has helped. Does anybody have any experience or advice to share?
Thanks,
Patrick |

| If nothing in her routine or food/treats have changed then I would look at having a fecal done and check for various worms and parasites she may have picked up on a walk or playing. You may need to push her feeding time either back or forward to try to get her body to function before or after going in the crate, at least until you can figure out if she needs a round of worming or if she's getting into something, like grass or dirt eating, that might be the culprit. _________________ |

| Thanks for the feedback Jenn. I thought about that as a possibility as well. The odd thing is that this started 2 days after her heartworm medication and just a few days after her first vet visit where a stool sample was provided and cleared. While definitely possible that it was during this window of time, it is a pretty small window.
I like your idea of adjusting the routine slightly so dinner comes even earlier. Thank you! |

| Mine have gotten diarrhea from heartgaurd. Sometimes it lasts a few days. 15 weeks is early to start heart worm prevention, the box says dogs 6 months and older on heartgaurd. |
