| Hey peeps, looking at getting my 3rd Husky (or maybe a Malamute) was just wondering a few things (I always got my others groomed) what’s the best brush for their coats, beat shampoo to use with their coats?
I had a Husky X Akita who was 7 month old when I first got him (huge bundle of fun) his name was Shadow, pure white (started going tan) with brown eyes, he was 2 1/2 year old when I lost him (unfortunately) I’d never had a Husky previously to these and he learnt me pretty much most things about the breed (and searching on the internet)
Then had a Staffy X Husky who was 8 weeks old when I got him, he was about the same age when I lost him, well not lost, I left him with my ex and the new born baby (won’t go into detail) as I didn’t feel like breaking them 2 up because Roscoe took so well to the new born baby, it was like his little partner in crime. He had a brindle colour and blue eyes, super cute thing. I get updates on him so all good.
Anyway, I’m hoping I can get a Husky from a shelter (there’s too many in shelters) but I also want a puppy Husky as well (might bite me but either way none of the doggos or going, I’ll make it work some how)
I’ve already got harnesses (yes multiple from a puppy to fully grown) from Man Matt or something like that (Arctic Paws is the place I got them from) also got some paw wax, tooth brushes and a lot of other things to keep the dog clean, or as clean as the little dirt diggers can be, lol, it’s just the shampoo and brush I got a problem with finding, I don’t want a furminator as I’ve heard bad things about them and don’t wanna pull the fur out the pup and cause it pain.
I want a red one with blue eyes and a pink nose but at this point a Husky is a Husky, as long as it’s healthy, cared for, I don’t mind. I miss my old 2 I had and always felt incomplete without having one by me, I’ve gone super lazy since not having one so it’ll help me having one as well. Helps take my mind off things because I’m putting effort into an adorable doggo
Anyway, I’m Tommy, 26, living in West Midlands as a self employed mechanic. (I already have the car to take them places too) |

| Welcome. I can point you too a bunch of horse brushes that work well but as for ones specific for dogs im clueless. One of my dogs i use clippers on because squirt cant be properly groomed without drugs. Spider i use both a rubber curry comb and a plastic mane comb and sometimes a medium stiff brush with coconut oil.
Colorado has several husky rescue groups. Alot of puppues get turned in after Christmas when kids get bored or parent get annoyed or someone missed the "pets are the worst gift ever" memo. You may even want to call ahead and then they will let you know when something comes in. |

| Look for an undercoat rake and a slicker brush. The slicker brushes are the ones with the thinner wire bristles. The slicker is nice for standard brushing when they aren't blowing coat, but the rake is a must during coat blowing time. _________________ |

| Only brush I find that works is a rake brush! And shampoo I find the most natural ingredients shampoo works best. But you should only wash your husky only twice a year. Unless he’s really really dirty. |

| Welcome to the forum. Just wondering, what happened to your first dog that you 'lost'. It was thoughtful of you to let the next one go with the baby.
Another query - do you work from home or do you have some arrangement for care of your dog during your working hours?
You certainly sound well prepared and equipped for whatever bundle of husky fur comes your way. Have fun when it does!
