Tomorrow am i am calling my vet. Splinter just isnt acting right  cant really tell right off the bat if hes even sick or what. For the last few days he has been more clingy then usual,  his energy level is down, spending time behind the couch. In the morning usually after he eats and goes out and comes in and him and spider play with the rope. Has been going on for over 5 years. This morning he came in and went to his bed. Yesterday he did have diarrhea once and hes eating and drinking normally. No fever.  At this moment he is rearranging the blankets in his bed and his energy level is almost normal.  He has a lump that i worry about that needs to get checked. He is an unknown terrier mix so who knows what genetics are in play.  

Other then bloodwork im not even sure what i should be asking the vet to look into.  And im terrified that the lump will turn out to be cancer. He already has what they think might be epilepsy and With whats going on with shadow its easy to think the worst.

If worried about cancer they will likely want to xray the lump depending on where it is. They may also want to xray to make sure something isn't lodged in the stomach possibly making his belly hurt. Bloodwork and xrays are good starting points that will indicate most things. One of them should help you narrow a direction on other things if they don't outright show what is going on. Xray is how we found keno's cancer.

The lump is directly next to the spine. And he is acting even weirder then usual this morning. He has an appointment at 130 today. He ate his breakfast poop was a little loose. He did ay with his ball for a minute but didn't run around giving kisses to me or jerry and then he didnt go bother shadow, he just jumped in his bed. And he hasn't been barking as much today. When you have a super annoying super high energy dog that all the sudden isnt being super annoying and really isnt all high energy i get worried. Even when outwardly thats really most of the symptoms.

How did vet visit go? Lump by spine, even if benign can be problematic if it puts pressure on the spine or parts that run along the spine. Definitely worth checking out.

So the lump is suspected to be scar tissue from where he got bit by someone 4 or 5 years ago when we had 6 dogs and had a major brawl that resulted in splinter getting hurt and me rehoming 2 dogs. Bloodwork was normal fecal showed no blood or parasites but was very loose and dark so antibiotics. Gave him 1 last night and this am was back to normal. Also hr needs to lose about 2 lbs which doesnt seem like much until you consider he weighed 19.2 lbs yesterday.

And because i didnt take spider, she is still really upset he left. She hasnt been more then 5 feet away from him since he came home.
