my husky dog is 10 weeks old. It now weighs 8.15 pounds. I think it should be a little below the weight. I feed him four times a day.

I give a total of 80-90gr dry food per day. He is very active and playful

He always gets excited when he eats. He eats too fast.

do I feed him little?

if you are feeding 80-90 grams a day, it would seem you are feeding not nearly enough. Weight measurements are hard to make a call on because different foods have a different weight. Just googling though it would seem you are feeding a total of 1/2 to 1 cup a day? My adults get 2 cups a day. Pups that are growing should eat more. Since I'm unsure of how much food you are actually feeding by your given measurement the best bet is to go by look and feel. Your pup shouldn't be fat and round. When you run your hands lightly down his sides you should only feel the last rib or two, not all of his ribs. Huskies should be lithe dogs.

For eating too fast, take a heavy cup, like a coffee mug and sit it upside down in his food dish and then pour the food in. It will force him to have to eat around the cup, or a tennis ball, and should help slow him down on his eating.

He has an insatiable appetite now. therefore, I think that the food weight is insufficient.

1 cup is exactly how many grams. I guess that can change. I'm using Proplan puppy food.

I didn't know and had to go looking - it would appear that 1 standard measuring cup is somewhere between 110 - 224 grams ... and that's not a lot of help. And the Purina Pro Plan says that a cup is 98 grams...

I'm no expert, but that pup looks thin to me.

1 cup of the food we feed our dogs (Kirkland Salmon) is about 100g so that matches what aljones posted above.  If you're feeding 80-90g/ day, that is way too little for a growing puppy.  Your dog food bag should have a guideline to start with but I'd double the food and see how it goes.

If the puppy doesn't start to gain significant weight, I'd triple it.  You don't want the puppy too fat, but I believe a puppy should be more on the fat side and adults should be more on the lean side.

As a data point, at 10 weeks, our two puppies were 17lb (male) and 15lb (female).

Now that your pictures are showing I would definitely feed more. Double and see how it goes then work up to around 3 cups a day. I wouldn't jump right into 3 cups a day or you will give your pup the runs after going so long on such little food, but work up to around 3 cups a day and see how the weight gain goes. Our pups eat a lot because they are growing. Once they hit around a year old then they will slow down on how much food they need. The majority of us feed 2 cups once they are a year or more, and 3 or so cups while they are under a year depending on how their weight is being carried.

Should I mix dry food with wet food?

Dry food is fine. Wet food can be added to entice them to eat, but I think he will eat the dry food without additions.

Make sure he has lots of fresh water too.

I've seen flame wars started over this question so I'll try to be safe with my answer.

The primary arguments that I've seen against mixing kibble and canned food, which is what I think you're asking, is that the dogs digestive tract is so short that the kibble gets moved along with the wet food and doesn't get properly digested.  (I make no comment about the validity of that statement.)  The other is that when you give kibble and canned food at the same time (called "using a topper") you're enticing your dog to eat the kibble by topping it with an arguably better, tastier food.  Doing that you might end up with a dog who's picky about what he eats - going from your dog who eats too fast to one who doesn't eat much at all because it doesn't have his topping.

If you're going to feed dry food, then I'd just stick with dry food since your boy is eating what he can get.

Change of topic:  I agree with the others that your puppy appears to be underweight.  I'd gradually increase his food by, say, 25 grams a day.  (I'd have said 1/4 cup a day but since I don't deal in metric, I'm "guestimating")  As a puppy, he should be eating around three cups a day spread across three meals; eventually he'll either put on too much weight or he'll stop eating as much and you'll want to reduce the amount you feed to two cups or less per day.

I'm also guessing that English isn't your mother tongue, if our answers need clarification feel free to ask.

Just dry food. And I agree you're pup is way to thin. A pup of that age should be a round little butter ball. A standard measuring cup, US, is 8 FLUID ounces. It depends on the density of the food as to the weight of 8 fluid oz... but a puppy generally eats about a total of 3 cups part day divided into 3-4 meals.

I freefeed 3 of my 4 but across the board they eat twice as much in winter then they do the rest of the year. Also when its hot or above 60 and sunny spider doesnt eat every day but eats a massive amount of food on the days she does eat.

If i remember correctly, at 10 weeks spider was eating almost a pound of food a day

Shadow is now 13 weeks old. He is quite appetizing. He gets very excited to see the food. He's almost dancing.

And for a few days, he started shedding white feathers. You can already see from the pictures.

He looks like he's grown some. Mine are shedding now too. Tumbleweeds of hair everywhere.

we started walking outside.  I read that puppies should not walk too much. We walk about 45 minutes a day. I don't know how accurate this is. I think it has to do with bone development.  I started feeding 3 cups. Now, Shadow weighs 7.8 kg.

How do you think the body mass? Is there a problem?

Why don't you start a "52 weeks of Shadow" You're pretty much giving us a week by week followup (and I'm not being critical, I like your little red!)  There is something odd in his facial shot - but that could be just the angle of the picture or the fact that he's still a young puppy.

Re walking: The generally accepted "rule" is an average of a 5 minute walk for every month of age.  At 13 weeks (4 months) you'd be looking at a 20 minute walk.  Of course that depends on a lot of different things.  Are you walking on pavement versus grass or sand/dirt - pavement is harder on all dogs bones.  Are you "force marching" him during that walk or is it a casual walk - the easier you take it, the easier it will be on his bones and his development.  In my opinion, a 45 minute walk down a beach, for example, is a lot more gentle on his bones / development than a 25 minute walk down a sidewalk.

I have to laugh at pups that are about his age, "dumbo ears" (dumbo the flying elephant) and legs that are twice as long as they 'need to be' - he'll eventually grown into them but they sure look 'funny' at that age.

He still looks a little skinny, but he's not (again, in my opinion) badly underweight.  I have one who's been "skinny" since I got him at a year old (and he's 8 yo now) and nothing I can do puts any weight on him - you may have the same type of pup.
