| Hello everyone my ten month old female pup tends to pick at her food not really sure if that's normal behavior. She will have food in her dish for two to four days before eating it |

| Does she eat a sufficient amount of food per day- even if she's just picking at it?
If she's not eating anything, or much of anything, I would probably take her to a vet. If it's just her dog food, perhaps a change in food is in order.
Maybe offer some hot dog pieces and see what happens. |

| Even if I put stuff in her food or give wet food she'll eat a little here and there usually her food is gone the. Next morning but I think the reason she picks here and there is that she's in heat and that's when the not eating food much for three to four days she eats a high performance dog food and gets anywheres between 1 1/2 cups to two cups a day |

| I would put her on a feeding schedule and give her half her daily allotment in the morning, leave it down for 20 minutes than take it away. Nothing more, including treats until her next feeding, either late afternoon or early evening, give her the other half of her daily allotment. Leave it down for 20 minutes and remove. Personally, I would stick to just kibble - trying to coax a dog to eat with additives only encourages them to be picky, waiting to see what else you have and the additives do not increase the nutrition of a high quality kibble.
Also, make sure you are not over-feeding. Its easy to do with a high quality kibble that packs a lot of nutrition (and calories) in a small package. |

| I have a big bag as I have other dogs as well I only give hotdog water over their food and I do the same with my pup so she's not thinking the other dogs are getting something special she only gets fed twice a day. When she was younger I'd feed her 1/2 cup three to four times a day now that she's ten months it's only twice a day |
