I'm reminded of the thread about the petition to stop animal cruelty in China - Looks like a few good people can make a difference

And this guy is still free in China? I sense some sort of posturing within this story.

From reading the article, it sounds like it resulted in two animal rights groups joining up and purchasing the dogs outright from the driver of the truck - legal transaction as far as the government's concerned. As for stopping traffic, Ionno...

It sounds like a legitimate account of well intentioned folks getting a win. I just think the things we hear out of China are mostly concocted bits of what they want us to hear. They paid the driver? The stuff I've learned of transactions tells me there are other parties who may not be so happy with that deal. Sounds good on the surface. Still skeptical of the overall tone. That's all.

The $17,000 is how much their meat would be worth, which is why the driver accepted it.

More then likely do, I think they figure if its cooked long enough then it'll kill what ever germs might kill them. Kind of like the way our beef industry operates. (remember Jack In the Box)
