This is my first post, i have had my husky for 5 months she is 7 months. She is potry trained for our house, but i cannot get her to potty train for her crate. Outside of going in her crate she is trained. I have tried only giving her enough space to turn around, but it doesnt work she will either play in it or lay in it. I am bathing her almost daily. Any suggestions??

Only experience I've had with a dog going to the bathroom in their crate was when they had diarrhea and couldn't really help it..

Assuming this is not the case, perhaps getting that enzyme spray to clean the crate and bedding with might help... ?

Lastly, a trip to the vet might be in order to rule out any medical issues.

I just recently had her at the vet she is a perfectly healthy puppy. I have tried bedding, puppy pads, the scented spray to tell them where to go and nothing really works.

Could she be experiencing a bit of separation anxiety?
That is, when she is in her crate, is that the time you leave her all alone?
( Some dogs become anxious when their owners leave, and that's when they lose control...)

And yes, if her crate smells like the bathroom, she may continue to go in it.
So I'd give it a thorough scrubdown and enzyme cleaning like dvflyer said.

How long is she in her crate each time and what is her feeding/ water schedule?

It may be that she just can't hold it long enough yet. At 7 months, I still got up at night to take our dogs out to go to the bathroom.

8-10 hours. If i am at work longer than that i have someone go let her out. I thought she may not be able to hold it that long but didnt know if it was just her or if it was normal.

The Humane Society says that "Generally speaking, a puppy can control their bladder one hour for every month of age." and I think we tend to agree with that here.  So asking her to ' hold it' for 8-10 hours is stretching it more than just a bit.

Even if you have someone come in now at about 4 hours it'll take time for her to be comfortable that she can hold it - why, when she's never had reason to.  When she knows that she'll get out, then you can expect normal continence.

If this becomes her norm, even when she gets older I think you'll still have problems.  At, let's say, a year she *should* be able to hold urine / feces - but she'll have become used to the mess.

ETA: is that real wood floor or a laminate. If real wood, then I'm jealous!!

Thanks. The flooring in the picture is laminate but the oyher rooms in my house are real wood.
