Who here uses dental chews? What brands have you had the most success with as far as cleaning and breath improvement? We’ve used Greenies but have been looking at Merrick lately. Have made multiple attempts at teeth brushing and they all fail!

Raw bones are good at cleaning teeth as well as chicken feet. Don't do much for breath but keeping tartar under control does pretty well for that in itself.

If dental health is the reason, I would recommend trying a finger toothbrush (they sell them at most pet stores). I find that dogs who refuse a regular brushing will allow them As far as dental chews, I use mostly Whimzees or Greenies (greenies have grain-free, which is needed for my brother's dog). I like using the raw bones and antlers for tartar control. The reason raw bones are specified is the cooked bones shatter when chewed and if eaten can cause digestive tract issues. If bad breath is the reason you want the chews, you could also try an enzyme spritz or an enzyme toothpaste. Let me know how everything works out!

I use water buffalo horns and benebones for promoting chewing even though these are more permanent of a chew or chew toy. Most items that dogs chew on can help decrease or limit tartar buildup on.

We use Oral B "chews"
