| She may be my only child, but Tetra is such a problem child lol. She started by having pretty bad social and separation anxiety. Then we found out she had a recessed vulva which might have needed surgery if her first heat didn't push it out. Then her heat cycle came and pushed her vulva out so thankfully she didn't need the extra surgery. After that she started having some slight gingivitis, her gums have a red line on them, so now I have to brush more often than I already do. The day of her spay came around and I was able to do it on a day I worked so I could be there for her when she woke up. A normal spay takes 30-60 minutes. 2 hours later, Tetra was finally coming out of surgery. Turns out she had a huge uterus, but not only that, she seemed to have a clotting disorder since she bel a lot more than normal and also her blood didn't clot properly. 2 weeks later and $160 to send the blood out, it's been confirmed that she had a clotting disorder called Von Williebrands. If any of you know anything about Von Williebrands, it's NOT common whatsoever in huskies. It's common in Dobermans and Rottweilers. So, now I know my child has a clotting disorder, and it's not something I would have ever thought she would have being the breed she is. The final thing in our story here, the other day she chipped a canine a little. Thankfully her root isn't showing so it doesn't need to be removed, but if it did, she would probably need blood transfusions and to go to a specialist with having a clotting disorder. At only a year and 2 months old, she's already had enough issues to last a lifetime, but we've still got so many years to go. Here's hoping the rest are a little easier |
