Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Adopt A Husky, a rescue group from Illinois, has a husky hike every year to raise money for abandoned huskies. I have attended the past two years, and my dogs and I had a blast! This years hike is on May 14th, in Wadsworth IL. More info about the hike can be found at www.adoptahusky.com

It really is cool to see so many siberians in one place. They sell lots of great husky items too, and have a huge basket raffle.

I would love to do something like this, but right now a 3 hour drive is just too far... If you go, will you take pictures and post them? I would love to see all those beautiful huskies!

I know what you mean about the drive, its about 4 to 5 hours for us. We were going to skip it this year, due to the cost, but I decided the hike could count as my birthday present. Made the boyfriend happy, no shopping!

Hopefully next year I will be in a better position to go. Maybe even make a weekend out of it since there is so much to do in Chicago. It looks close to Gurnee, I think their used to be a huge outlet mall there, you can still do your birthday shopping. Very Happy

They have a hike in Minnesota too! Its in Prior Lake on the same day, May 14th. That might be a lot closer to where you live. Still somewhat of a drive though.

Husky Hike was kind of cold this year, but the dogs enjoyed the cooler temps! Luka enjoyed the bobbing for hot dogs game. She would stay under as long as she could, grabbing multiple pieces at a time. There was a big mal that had a crush on Kitty. It kept dragging its owner by Kitty. It was cute! I love you Kitty was kind of intimidated by his size at first, but she got use to him. Here are a few pictures. Didn't get as many as I should have, was too busy looking at all the dogs.

Girls enjoyed the king size bed at the hotel. It was great! Everyone had room to spread out!

The black one is the dog that had a cursh on Kitty. Forgot to try to get a better picture of him before we left. Really should have taken one of them together!

They both slept well on the ride home.

Got a t-shirt and a magnet for my car. Wanted to get this wood carving with two huskies on it, but it was a little too expensive. If only gas would have been less expensive!
