| Sierra entered our lives on Feb. 22 2009, she came to us free from craigs list, let me tell you, these free dogs i swear end up costing you a ton in the long run She was 2 weeks shy of turning 6. She was our first husky and my first love, she dug so deep into my heart with her sweet face. everyone always thought she was a puppy! Sierra climbed mountains, camped in the woods, took road trips and in her prime killed a few things.... She also over came so many battles with her health. she had 3 or 4 masses removed, 2 being cancer. she had teeth pulled from breaks before we got her, she had corneal dystrophy which never seemed to cause any sight issues, and in the last year she had both her knees repaired and a mass removed from her butt. She fought and recovered from all of this only to be taken out by more masses, freaking cancer sucks. She will always live in my hear and in my memories. She was loved by so many and because of her brought so many great people into our lives that i will always be truly grateful for the friendships that have come from her. Here is just a small collage of images from the years, i realized i never posted her 15th birthday images so i will add a few of those to. we took her to our fav. mountain town and took a walk along the water, she checked out some chickens, got icecream and enjoyed herself, i am so glad we did that for her. now for a mix of Pics from the years her last day, trip to the park here are other threads on her: https://www.itsahuskything.com/t3171-sierra-jack-finnhttps://www.itsahuskything.com/t17687-senior-huskies-sierra-s-updateRIP Baby girl, till we meet again. _________________ |

| Perfect blend of pics, Jennifer, they truly demonstrate the different facets of her life. I didn't realize til now, I would be going through the same thing right now with Blitz and Anuschka had they lived a full life, Sierra was born the same year as them, and only a month difference, they were born in April.
Run free Sierra, I will miss you. |

| Sierra came home to us last night Our friends have been so wonderful, we have received so many thoughtful gifts We used Caring Pathways, not sure if they are just a CO company or all over but they were so kind and everything went so smoothly with them, the paw print looks great, i love that it still had some of her fur on it and the little nail marks from the caps she was wearing. The vet also mailed a card and everyone wrote a personal message in it about Sierra, i have cried just about every day. She will always be remembered, thank you all for the support. _________________ |

| Jenn, I have avoided posting, because, I didn't want to cry. I am so happy that Sierra came to you and Ken, so you both could fall in love with the husky breed. She touched me and I had never even met her, but her resilience and her sweet face will always be an inspiration, and also the dedication that you both had for her. This probably makes no sense, she was a gift to so many, and I loved seeing the pics of her and her adventures with y'all. Run free sweet angel <3 |

| I was doing okay until I read that plaque - that is so very true and so very sweet. This is a beautiful tribute to her and I feel your pain ...
I'd never heard of Caring Pathways so had to look it up, of course, and they seem to be just CO. I don't think I've ever seen any one with an absolute 5 star rating. While this had to be the most awful day of your lives, it's helpful when you can have someone who isn't cold to take care of those final hours. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| That plaque is awesome, Jennifer. Sierra really was a special little girl, it's reiterated over and over again in this post how she managed to touch our hearts, and we never even got to meet her in person. I am so happy Sierra's ashes are back home with you guys. I have a little story about the ashes, it involves my Anuschka. I may have mentioned it before, it's "weird" but I'll tell it anyways. I installed lights outside in the backyard, in the landscaping, they all worked with the exception of one, it never worked. It was installed on the lawn to light the plant that is there, this is the plant the dogs lay under when they lay on the grass. As I said, the light never worked, I left it there though cuz I didn't want to dig the lawn up to get to the wiring. Anuschka passed away on a Saturday morning and I brought her that morning to the cremation place. That night, I was sitting in the backyard crying my eyes out, and I look up, and that light is on. The light that never worked. It wasn't full on brightness, it was dim and it flickered. Every night after the Saturday, it did the same thing. The following Tuesday, I got the call that Anuschka's ashes were ready to be picked up. I left from work, picked up Anuschka and brought her home. That night, the light didn't come on and never ever came on again since then. In my head (and remember, I'm weird ), I feel she was letting me know with the light, that she was still around me and once her ashes were home, she didn't need to let me know that anymore, cuz I'd know she was back home, I don't know if "signs" like this are real or not, or if it's just our sadness that conjures them up. |

| Jimmy, what a story, i fully believe it was her.
Yesterday morning i was sitting in bed trying to get up in the morning and i just started to smell poop, i was really wondering if one of the boys went down stairs, nope it was all good. part of me thinks it was her, or my nose playing tricks on me....i will take any sign i can get.
I just need to find the most perfect thing to put her in now. i either want a urn made of blown glass, or one with a mountain theme on it. Is it bad that after i cried picking her up my first thought was how heavy the ashes were.... really i was shocked. its just in a tin box so the weight is not from that. this is the first pet i have ashes for, my ferrets are buried in the yard at my parents house, i feel bad for who ever owns that home after them and decides to do landscaping, lots of pets all over..... _________________ |

| \What a wonderful sweet dog who had a wonderful life... (except for her medical issues :-(
I loved looking at her pictures, thank you so much!
( I especially smiled at the picture of that stretch - Rumo does the same "calisthenics" stretch every morning before his walk, with the same expression on his face! :-) And wow, that photo coming off the rocks is scary! What fun adventures!
Take care.

| thank you everyone. the kindness, gifts and cards we have received over the weeks has been so wonderful. I miss her so much every day and do as much as i can to keep her memory alive. FB has been great with the memories, instead of being sad when they pop up i just look at her and remember the good times we had. i still can't talk about her or write about her with out tearing up, as i am now. _________________ |
