Hi,
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your Forum.
A little about me , I will be 65 years old in December, got my first Siberian when I was 10 years. Raced, showed, and trialed them until 1985, when the "dark side" took over, and we went to Alaskans and eventually Eurohounds for Racing. In 2013 , some health issues forced my husband and myself to no longer maintain the racing kennels, So the dogs were split between 3 key friends that are still using these bloodlines we started today. We were left with the house dogs, a Doberman and a "rescue" rat terrier now 15 years old. The Dobie passed 3 years ago, and one dog now 12 years old wasn't enough. I thought that Me Biscuits was such a nice dog and well behaved that we should look and buy a Rat Terrier. I did my research, found a breeder of 20 years, with a great line of dogs. I love Gypsy to death, but I am not a "Terror" person. I think Mr. Biscuits is part Chihuahua as to how calm he is! Well, in the scheme of things, I happened upon a woman that was breeding Chukotka sled dogs, her foundation stock right from the villages of Lorino, and Inchoun Chukotka. It was always on my bucket list to get a dog from Siberia, so we imported Val've last year. You will hear more about him as well as photos later if you are interested, I am currently working with the same Russian breeder to get a female from her. She plans on another expedition to the Chukotka region this spring with hope of 10 or more new dogs.
My other passion is my dog gear business Windigo Outfitters that I have owned and started for the past 45 years. I hope that I can help answer any questions on equipment and usage for you.
Well again, I hope to be a productive member of the group as time allows.
