| Hey, I've been pondering over what I could do to make these coming summer months a little more comfortable for my pup. After a spontaneous "does this even exist" google, I wound up with a massive list of dog beds/pads that "self-cool," some even up to 10 degrees below the room temp.
Has anybody ever tried these? Is it worth the investment? I was considering this one for a trial run: http://www.amazon.com/Cool-Cooling-Large-32-Inches-44-Inches/dp/B0009EUZWA/ref=pd_bxgy_petsupplies_text_b |

| Much as I've liked the K&H dog house floor heater, this gizmo sounds like a pain in the butt.
"Add water through easy-fill cap and adjust comfort with valve"
Nice mess you'll have if your pup chews through it. |

| This might be a better option: http://www.amazon.com/Coolaroo-Large-Steel-Framed-Brunswick-Green/dp/B000P7JKD6/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1333650731&sr=1-3-fkmr0

Nice mess you'll have if your pup chews through it. Ah, touche. Given I've fortified sections of my house, I have no idea how the chewing factor didn't come to mind. Thanks. |

That does look quite comfortable, but will it keep him cooler? He tends to enjoy the "cold, hard ground" |

| i need to get a cooling bed / pad for Bullet because I will be taking him with me on a road trip in a couple of weeks. This K&H, you have to put water into it. I wonder if he will like that. Those who have one, is the bed wobbly? Then I also found this one. It has a higher rating than K&H. http://www.amazon.com/Evaporative-Dog-Cooling-Mat-XLARGE-/dp/B004X46U30/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1373520951&sr=8-8&keywords=dog+cooling+pad Any husky owner who had bought this? I just want to solicit feedback. Thank you Josete & Bullet |

| I just bought this for my pup https://www.amazon.com/Polar-Pooch-Self-Cooling-Mat/dp/B01EN780CU/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1471551682&sr=1-1&keywords=polar+pooch While he's only had it for about an hour, he already loves it. Normally he follows me around and lays near me. I placed this in the living room and while I can see him from my desk in the other room, he has stayed put.
It does not seem to get colder than my hardwood floor, however it stays cold for awhile. I had one hand on and one off and the hand that was off warmed up the ground but my other hand was still cool. |

| We have this one for Anya and she loves it. No need to fill it with water or freeze it, it has a pressure-activated gel.
The weirdo loves laying on the balcony when it's 100+ degrees, so this makes me feel better about letting her lay out.
We have an elevated bed for indoors that she also really likes; it's cooler for her because air can circulate better. |

| Cool thread, pun intended! I've been thinking about getting one of them elevated beds for a while now. I just discovered pressure activated pads. I don't know which to try first but now seeing this thread makes me really want to decide to try these things on Mylo hmmm |

| Hmm these look interesting... Luka likes to lay on top of the ac vents in the floor to stay cool, maybe he'd like one of these so we can share the ac... I wonder what the gel is made of in some of these mats though? He's a chewer for sure. |

| ^The one I linked to says that the gel is safe for humans and dogs to ingest, specifically because so many dogs chew |

| Finally took the plunge to let Mylo try an elevated bed. My biggest fear was for him not to like it and waste money but...he did like it!! Posting this here since it's relevant on the thread Here's the "hammock" It's size medium from Coolaro, I liked the grey. It's flimsy when picked up to carry somewhere else. Wacky decision to not include some kind of screw washers to keep everything tight. Not bad for $21 though. Look at him I just love it when he gets on it and takes a little nap |

| bsides this thread, there have been several other threads talking about a Cooling Bed, Google shows these. Try your luck glancing through them and if none of them answer your question, try asking it again. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |
