Hi all!

I wanted to introduce myself and my new pup. My name is Angel, and, after many years wanting a husky, I finally made the move and got one. His name is Neo! I got him about a month ago from a breeder of 20+ years, he just turned 5 months March 26th. I loved this guy even before I ever met him. Since, that has only grown. He caught up super quick with potty training, which is phenomenal. Still some accidents here and there, but doing great overall. He was super shy and submissive when I picked him up. The breeder said he was like that because his sister was the most dominant in the litter, and he would just give in. In part, it seems like that was a good things because although he has evolved and gotten more comfortable, he’s got an overall calm personality(except when he’s craving attention and really wants to play.)

Now, the one thing I’ve got a question about at this point... I can tell Neo has a bond with me but doesn’t show affection, whereas, with my housemate (female), he goes all crazy about, she’s crazy about him too. I feed him, walk him, give him treats, give him lots of love, train him, play with him, and he sleeps in my room. She (my housemate) takes care of him while I’m at work, and she bathes him with love and fun. Do huskies typically pick one person to show the most love to, or do they share with multiple? Would they see someone as the most fun and someone as the feeder and the one who disciplines him? I’m not too stressed about it, but would love to have some intake from some other husky owners.

Lovely pictures. In my experience, huskies love people. All people. Your pup may be responding to the two of you to your different personalities - maybe, totally just a guess, you are a calmer, more relaxed individual and your roomie more energetic. Maybe pup is tired from play by the time you get home. Maybe you expect more calm and your room-mate jazzes him up. Or you are more firm and roomie is more soft.

Welcome to the forum! Dogs definitely have a way of mirroring who they are around. My mom is more like your roommate. My one dog sees her as the fun grandma and always gets excited and crazy when she is there, but she talks to him in a high voice and gets him worked up whereas I don't. At the end of the day though while she is like the fun aunt you love to hang out with, I am the one they come to if there's a crisis still. They know their people and who they need for what.

He is pretty! Is he named after the hero "Neo" from the Matrix?  

I have a shepherd-husky mix, and he has a chosen Person (me). When I left town for a few days, he didn't want to go on walks with my husband - he kept asking for car rides, apparently thinking that if he drove around long enough, he would find me. (Since I had gotten on a plane, not likely). If our family is hanging out in separate rooms, he always chooses MY room - that's how I realized I am the One.

On the other hand...he loves to Play with my husband and he gets more into running, chasing the ball, and has a lot more fun with him. He prefers my husband's tummy rubs and he rolls over and asks for them more from my husband, than from me.

With daughter, he is more protective. When we have guests, he lays outside her bedroom door.

I think dogs are complex beings and they can have different relationships with different people!
It sounds like he has a happy life, so all is good, that's how I would feel
