Automatic Dog Watering Bowls Empty
PostSubject: Automatic Dog Watering Bowls   Automatic Dog Watering Bowls EmptyWed May 09, 2018 7:27 pm

In time, I'm told, all good things must end.

I have an old watering bowl that accepts 5 gal (home delivery style) 'jug'.  I bought it several years ago, probably at WalMart <??>  Originally it came with a 4 gal jug - just like the home delivery types, just smaller.

The waterer I have now has cracked ... and all the water runs out (I'll try super glue, but that's a patch if it works at all).

Amazon, Chewy, WalMart, PetSmart, PetCo, TSC all have the same type - that require the use of their jug.  Ain't going that way, with our winds those just end up on the ground (off the porch) all too often and I'm not buying one every couple of months.

Is anyone aware of an automatic dog watering station that will accept a standard (5 gal) home delivery water jug??

I have spent the last day hunting around thinking surely there has to be something out there, and there might still be but I couldn't find it either. Seems DIY might be your only shot. Of the DIY ideas this one seemed the easiest.

Seems silly there isn't something out there, but might have more luck looking for livestock waters. Might be something out there that would be large enough and capable of screwing on. Not really sure.

Thanks for looking, Jenn. The one I have was designed for a replaceable jug so I was surprised that I couldn't find anything now.

Super glue has taken it from a stream to a couple of drops a minute - if that - but I know that's only a temporary fix. As I was glueing it, I was looking for anything that would identify it - manufacturer, etc - but no such luck.

While this one looks appealing, sorry guys, I'm not spending US$235 for a watering bowl!

I'm taking a fellow resident (lives a few miles down the road) up to Alpine on Monday, I may take a side trip up to Ft Stockton (Big City Automatic Dog Watering Bowls 1625187496 ) and see what I can find at the real brick and mortar stores there.
