Hello guys. I'm have some trouble deciding which one to pick over the other and was hoping someone more knowledgeable can help me select the best ones for my 8 wk pup.

In the long run, I think you'll find that washing your Husky is disadvantageous.  It strips their inner coat of the natural oils that their coats require.

Seldom does a Husky smell - unless they've decided to roll in <whatever> - and dirt / mud / sand all seem to magically drop off in short order (normally within an hour or so)

I have two Sibes and one Alaskan who literally have NOT been washed in the 8 years I've lived on the desert.  They don't need it.  Sasha wanders through the pool, steps out into the desert dust / sand and her feet and legs are covered with mud - 1/2 hour later, you'd never know they've been wet / muddy.

Ditto what Al said. My guy has only been bathed completely after a skunking or 2 or 3. The rest of the it's clean whatever he's rolled in.

Interesting though. Makes sense though since I'm sure the working sled huskies over at Alaska don't really bathe. Figured it would be more healthier for them if we groomed them with shampoo/conditioner with these special oils and whatnot but something to look into and consider. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

Our dogs are a little over a year old. Except for when we first got them, we've washed them once at a self-pet wash. It was fun. Mostly because someone else cleaned up the mess of fur and water sprayed everywhere.

Now, anytime they I think they smell, I brush them. Smell seems to go away.

Also, they seem to shed dirt. By that I mean anytime they've been dirty.... and I mean playing in the mud... I let them dry and then brush them. They are essentially dirt-free after that.

Yep I read that their fur is actually healthier without too much bathing. Bathing strips the natural oils and can irritate their skin. (This may be true for humans too, but I'm not going to go for years without a bath )

Our guy keeps himself super-clean. Normally he has no smell unless you have your nose within an inch of him, but he will sometimes get heavier dog odor. Grooming, and washing the blanket/sheet that he lies on helps. He generally gets a bath maybe 1-2 x year.

I bought a "natural" shampoo, I think ours is "Earthborn". The ingredients just seemed nice. At this bathing rate, the bottle should last the rest of his life, ha ha.

i use the burtsbees oatmeal wash when we wash at home in the summer, or we do the self dog washes and use what they have.
ours maybe get 2-4 washes a year....
always before family pictures, that is in oct. then they got another bath this past march before being dog sat. they had been on a ton of muddy hikes leading up to that and i was starting to get a white film on my finger tips when rubbing Jack, that seems to be my indicator they might need a wash. other times i just hose them off with water if they get to muddy and its warm out. for the most part they dry in the car and leave the mess there!

Now i feel negligent because spider has never had a bath and squirt has had like 3 in almost 7 years and goes swimming alot

My fluffy monsters get a bath about once a year. I like to do it just as our heat starts to hit because a bath usually loosens a lot of the fur that wants to come out anyways (even though they're brushed everyday!) , so I can brush it all out so they are more comfortable during our hottest months. Their last few baths I've used a shampoo called Mane'n'Tail, it works well!

Someone mentioned Furminator shampoo and conditioner in another related thread. Said it was good for getting out all the loose hair. We haven't tried it yet.
