Hi Everyone.
I'm new to this forum, and am hoping you more experienced Husky owners can give me some advice. I came across this girl recently at the local animal shelter.
She has a fantastic personality-- as you can see! The shelter's best estimate is that she is 10 years old, and I am wondering how much exercise you think a 10-year old Husky might need on a daily basis.
My wife and I are experienced dog owners, but we have never had a Husky before. Because we both work during the day, I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before adopting this pup. Realistically, we could take her on two 30-minute walks a day. She is a sweetheart, but in fairness, if we cannot give her the daily activity she needs she would be better off with another family.
Any advice you have would be much appreciated. I'm very glad to have found this forum.
Cheers, Sagar
[Note: I originally published this in 'Videos', but this group seemed a more appropriate fit. Hope that's OK!]

At ten, two 30 minutes a day walks would be fine. This girl needs love. That and a some exercise would make the years she has left golden. Thank you for considering rescuing her!

Thanks, Michael. That is very encouraging! I'm going to pay her a visit now at the shelter. She goes up for purchase tomorrow.

Go for it. I would have a vet look her over good for arthritis and go from there. My girl is almost 9 and two 30 minute walks would keep her more than content. By 8 many of our dogs have some level of arthritis so going on a fish oil like Bonnie and Clyde can really help. With a quality diet and a great home she could bring your family love for a while to come.
