Taking this down because someone want's to say that we are being cruel to Shiva or not taking her to the vet ASAP! I have been in contact with a vet tech and others to get her the help she needs until our vet can see her!

Wow. I don't know if I would wait for tomorrow's appointment. if you have an E-vet I would go ahead and go to it. That looks deep. I would also potentially question my trust of the other dog. Correcting a pup is one thing, but they don't usually do that kind of damage for a simple correction. That's excessive.

He is a big dog and he tried warning her by grumbling at her but she didnt understand. I have a vet teck look her over and he said she can wait until tomorrow the wound is not bleeding any more and she wants to keep trying to smack it. and I have been keeping it dry and ointment in the wound.

get a spray bottle of saline and clean it out really well to help with not having it get infected.

That needs to be seen TODAY!!! Possible exposed sinuses with direct pathway to brain. Infection could be death.

AWWWWW Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Looks like it's going to need some stitches...if you can find a 24/7 emerg vet I would recommend it. Stitching the wound early is necessary while the skin is still bleeding. Waiting 24 hrs, doc may need to re-cut the scabs that form overnight...which means more pain...and making the wound bigger...=/...but the decision is yours. Whatever you feel comfortable in doing.

Dog is still a puppy so it will heal fast, but this might leave a scar. Sad

Wishing you guys a speedy recovery!

How is Shiva doing? I've been thinking about her all day. Sure hope I was wrong and the puncture didn't expose sinuses (hard to tell on my tiny phone)

No she is perfectly fine her vet gave her some antibiotics and told us to just keep the wound clean. I have the full report I will post it later. I have all three of my babys and hubby decorating the tree this evening, I just wanted to update yall!

The wound is healing fine and just gave her the medicine to keep the risk of infection out. Thank you all for all your support in our time of need!

This is the vet report on her and yeah he spelled her name wrong lol I had to have them change it.
BAR means that she was bright, alert and responsive.

She has also been doing zoomies, crashing into me while running and not watching where she goes and sliding through the kitchen! LOL I will add a video of her if I can figure out how to lol

I don't know how many times my vet says my dogs name wrong but the cat is the worst. Khali. Kaw-lee. Like the Hindu goddess. I added the H to match the indian wrestler in hopes it would help them pronounce it better but it didn't help at all. I don't know why people don't know proper grammar and how letters sound paired with other letters anymore. Yet she's always called Kallie. I've had to change the spelling on some of her things when I first got her and was taking her in.

Glad Shiva's doing well.

Cynthia, sometimes folks here get a little carried away and that initial picture looked a whole lot worse than it apparently was.

That write up from the vet was encouraging and that she wants no bandages really indicates that it wasn't as bad as it looked.

Really glad that she is coming along well.

Now if you'll excuse a stupidity aside. After the son of a friend of mine of mine passed, the friend said that "sitting shiva" was going to be really difficult. Another friend later asked why he was going to "sit 'n shiver" --- sorry seeing your pups name just brought back some weird thoughts.

Thank you all so much! yes she made the wound so much worse! I had shown him the original cut and he was ok with it and said just to keep it clean and it will heal possibly with a scar and I said that is fine just as long as she is fine!

Some people who I thought was "friends" tried turning us into the animal control and local departments for "animal cruelty" I was in contact with her vet and a vet tech and they said since they could not see her the other day that she could wait since the wound was not bleeding and she was moving fine and her eyes were dilated fine.

Yeah I seen her name spelled wrong and I even told her how to spell it and say it when we first signed her in lol

Al Jones- I am sorry for your loss! and I wont be offended by anything like that. Its funny how things sound! lol I seen something on facebook the other day I can't recall what it said but it was something about Irish.....

Yeah the wound look so bad where she kept messing with it and aggravating the site. She now respects Tanks space more so I hope she learned her lesson! She hasn't tried to bother him during bed time again lol and they can get along fine now that she is learning boundary's.

I am sorry for this long rant but long story short yes it was a accident and we did take her to a vet to get treatment, and so help me the next one to threaten my Baby's or fur Baby's I will not be nice no more! I am not pointing any fingers at anyone on here but just in case the people who tried threatening to take our baby's and fur baby's and try telling me I am going to jail and they are sending animal control to take our baby's that night think again!

Ok rant over lol

So glad Shiva's OK. What a cutie. Smile

Grant was playing a toy and ran into the slider the night I brought him home after a 10 hour flight (!) and had to spend the following night in the animal hospital for observation. We now place vinyl clings at puppy level on all glass doors. Just saying I can relate to how delicate these little guys are. So relieved for you and your baby.

Good to know Shiva is playing and happy again. Smile

that's good! Her vet said she should just be left with a small scar once fully healed! She was running and playing all day yesterday even took a trip to walmart to get a few things and she handled it like a pro! she knew each time mommy stopped to either lay down or sit and wait (her choice) since she will be my service dog.

Update on Shiva, we finally got all the dried blood off of her face, some of her fur came off but all in all she is back to normal and just have a scab on her face. The skin in red from just getting it cleaned. I had to scrub her fur just a little bit.

As bad as that first picture looked, this one is amazing. I don't even see evidence of a scar and I would have expected that.

Pretty little girl looking at mommy "Okay, are you done yet???"
