2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Earth Animal No-Hide Chews; Thoughts? Empty
PostSubject: Earth Animal No-Hide Chews; Thoughts?    Earth Animal No-Hide Chews; Thoughts? EmptyThu Sep 14, 2017 5:50 pm

Good afternoon!

I was wondering if any of you have heard of this product, and what your thoughts are?

https://www.earthanimal.com/c/for-dogs/dog-treats/no-hide-dog-chews/

Juno pulled one off of the shelf at our local pet store the other day, and would not let it go. I read the ingredients, and I really liked the fact that there was not rawhide, so we bought it for her. She demolished the 4" one in less than 24 hours.

As she was chewing it, I did notice that it seemed to have the same feel and look of rawhide, once she got all of the pink salmon stuff off of it. Which then made me worry that it wasn't safe after all. Then today we made a stop at the pet store for more poop bags, and she made a beeline straight for the no-hide shelf, grabbed the biggest one, and would not let it go. So I gave in and got her another 4" one. She has had it four hours now, and carries it everywhere she goes.

Do you guys think this is an okay product? I have also tried SmartBones sweet potato bones, and she loves those. But nothing has compared to the no-hide in her book.

Let me know what your thoughts are!

Looks okay to me. Not sure how they are setting the pork meat to be solid, I assume through cooking, but the ingredient list looks fine to me. Any meat gets chewy as you dehydrate it but the important thing is what it does when it gets to digestion.

My pup loves those too! My only complaint is that they don't last long enough. Although I feel like no chew ever does.
