| I'm sure someone else on here has a husky that is perpetually dirty like mine is...wondering if anyone has any tips on keeping the car **somewhat** clean? my seats and doors are filthy because my muddy pup cant go anywhere without getting gross lol! Am I doomed to a car that will always look nasty or is there hope? Also, I do have a sheet and a dog hammock covering the backseat but she always finds a way to mess that up too and this is often the result..enjoy my misery |

| I'm sorry, I'm laughing my butt off. Was going to suggest a hammock but you seem to have been there... In our WRX, I used to put b moving blankets and sheets over every thing then cover with the hammock
Maybe an SUV and get weather tech cargo liner? |

| Yes, the vacuum is your friend. I vacuum the car after each time the dog is in it. I use the hammock but mine is a good fit so there is no way he could end up wrapped up in it like it appears yours managed to do.
What I find works best is to put mine in a plastic kennel in the back of our suv's and then cover the back & sides of that with a waterproof dog liner/hammock. The door is fully exposed for ventilation and the back/sides are loosely covered but the cover contains the fur pretty well and keeps it off the car. No matter what you do it will get dirty so keep the vacuum handy. _________________ |

| One good hint I got from this old House... Wear a dinner glove to rub the fur off the seats. Put on the glove, long strokes and the hair balls up to an easily picked up mass |

| While this wouldn't apply to me per se as I have leather seats, but what exactly is a "dinner glove"? _________________ |

Thank you Val, I've shown my lack of knowledge too much already this week. The first and only thing that popped into my mind was a white evening formal glove - don't think so .... _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| The only way I found that I could keep the car interior clean was through the use of a hard shell kennel. They wedge safely into the space between the seats and then the dog isn't damaging fabric, leaving behind fur/hair, or getting dirt anywhere. Having the dog(s) freely in the car didn't work no matter what we tried. Sedans and medium to large dogs just don't mix well.
SUV/CUV is honestly the best option. We have a weather tech liner in the back, seat protectors on the back of the seat, and a guard bar system to create a barrier between the cargo area and the backseat. Dirty dog? No problem, pull out the liner and hose it off. Shedding? No problem, quick run of the vacuum over the hard plastic picks it all up? Damage to the liner? Not likely and who cares, that's what its there for. It's honestly made it so easy to transport the dogs that we take them to more places and they have more fun. |

| I have weathertech and husky liners on all floor surfaces. Also, with leather seats there is not much fabric/carpet that is exposed. So a good drive down the freeway with windows open clears most of the hair and then regular cleaning (weekly at least). Between kids and the pups the vehicle is clean for a short time each week, but never so bad that I worry too much about it. |

| I use a lint roller on my seats and floor, after I've vacuumed. The lint roller is the only way the hair will come up! |

| sorry im so late responding to everyone i was on vacation and forgot to check this! I really want to get a bar barrier thing to block her from getting up front, even with the hammock and seatbelt she STILL manages to end up in the front seat no matter what I do. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I'll be trying all of them, hopefully something works out haha |
