Hi husky peeps! Does anyone have any advice on facilitating the coat blowing process? Currently using an undercoat rake along with a metal comb that has different length tines. Was wondering if the furminator stuff is worth it (I've heard very mixed reviews), including the de-shedding shampoo. Our groomer suggested a high velocity dryer but I'm not sure which to get. Any help or suggestions on this topic is appreciated! Thanks!!!

I have about 3 different brushes that I've used, one is a furminator. While it definitely takes out the undercoat, I found that my huskies didn't like it as much because it pulled more. I have two different styles of rakes that I use and they like. I have also noticed that the food I feed my huskies also makes a difference in their shedding. The more fishy it is the less they shed.

Many husky owner's swear by a high velocity dryer. I haven't tried, its a bit pricey for my budget.

This sort of thing:

Me and my furbabies prefer the Paws Pamper Undercoat Rake because it eliminates the loose hair without pulling out the actual coat and I like that it has rounded edges to prevent irritation. They act like it's a massage session, lol.

Welcome to the forum FURgirl....I agree a rake is superior for husky coats. I highly recommend NOT using a furminator, it pulls and cuts the coat.

After everything I've purchased for my dogs...this is the best. I've got the K9II with variable speed and it cuts down on a ton of brushing. My backyard is kind of small so I set up an EZ Up, close it off with towels, and let it rip. Keeps the raking and upset neighbors down to a minimum.

Investing in a high velocity dryer is totally worth it. I was skeptical, but now I don't know what we did without it.

I bought the Metrovac Air Force Commander (about $170) and I've used it on my pup every day for the past four years and the thing does.not.quit. It's amazing how much hair it gets out.

I'm in Florida, where we always have sudden rainstorms (and mud puddles) and it's so useful to get her dry quickly or to get off the dirt. It's helped keep our home cleaner and reduce the hair tumbleweeds.

It's seriously worth saving for!
