Hi. I want to introduce myself. I'm Karen and my new buddy is Apollo. He came with the name. He just turned 1 and we've had him for about a month. It's been a big month for him. He got his shots, was neutered, professionally groomed, and is learning that goosing people in their butt is not the correct way to start a game of tag. Oh, and peeing on dad's recliner is a big no no.
I've read a lot. I think I know what I'm in for, God help me. I'll read the instructions on how to post a photo but he's a black and white long haired brown eyed beauty. I don't actually care about the grooming, he can roll in mud if he likes but he had matts all the way to the skin that needed professional attention. Except the groomer asked DH if he wanted him shaved and DH was horrified by that.
He was 33 pounds when we got him and he weighed 41 when he went in for neutering so he's put on some weight but I think he needed it, hard to tell under the long fur.

Sounds like you have a wooly husky, they are beautiful! We have a few in here.

Reading about huskies, and owning one, are often like night and day. It really all just depends on your huskies personality. The breed, however, is quite unique but in a good way! They have character like no other, and their beauty, goes without saying. Hope you will post some pics! Pics are loved here.

Can't wait to see him. Anytime I here someone suggest shaving a husky my stomach turns and then I have to educate. Thought there was some training that was supposed to be involved to be groomer but apparently that doesn't include any understanding of a breed. Glad you knew better. Welcome to the forum.
