I am new in this forum, joined a week ago or so. I am from Indonesia, some of you may have no idea where it is. To make it easy it's where the current US President Barack Obama spent his childhood (although only very briefly).

I have a 4 Month Siberian Husky named Nero. He has biting problem. He was nice and cute but recently he has become a snapping Alligator. Suddenly everyone, especially the women and kids are afraid of him. I know Husky plays hard and rough, but I was wounded several times (well, maybe only scars) Anyone can help me with this?

How old was he when you brought him home from the breeders? Between usually weeks 6-8 puppies learn bite inhibition from their mom and litter mates, if they're not with mom and litter mates during this time you need to teach him it. When he bites and nips at someone, yelp (like his litter mates would have) or a firm no, set him on the ground and ignore him. it won't happen overnight but if you're consistent with it, it should come in time.

He was like 2 months old when first arrived in my house.

I have read sources from internet, and yes I scream, and I yelp, but it seems he found it as an invitation to play more roughly

He is 4 months now, and his behaviour hasn't changed and what makes it worse is that he is bigger and stronger now

I love him very much though.

Is it because he is lonely? Or not exercise enough?

It could be boredom and pent up energy. I've dealt with the biting two ways. With a younger dog I give them more than they bargained for. By that I mean when he nips my finger, I shove as much of my hand down his throat as I can. It activates gagging and instinctively they back away. Usually only takes a few good gags before that game isn't so much fun anymore.

If the biting is happening during play I just out do him. Personally I can always top their roughness and use that to slow them down. If he bites while we're rolling around on the floor I'll shove him aside. The first bite gets a moderate shove then we continue, the second bite gets a really good shove and a "no". This is only during playtime. Any other time I will use the first method.

What else are you doing when you "yelp?" Are you turning your back to him and walking away? You need to shut down all interactions with him. With Koda, I actually had to walk into another room and shut the door behind me for a few minutes because he did the same thing as Nero and just saw it as an invitation for more rough play.

It's annoying, but it worked for us.

I have made a little progress with my dog. Ignoring him when he was biting me seems to work for me.

He still bites, but seems to respond to "ouch", and immediately loosen his grip. I hope I am on the right track.
