We have had Blaise for almost 2 weeks now. She came to us on Iams and we're switching her to Fromm. We're going slowly but her stools are soft.
Is this from the food change and should be expected? Is it because she's stressed from changing families? Is there something we can do to fix this?

It's quite possible that both the food change, and the stress from changing families is contributing to her soft poop. I'd say it's a probability. Renee can answer this better but I believe Fromm is a much richer food than IAMS, so I'd just make sure she's not getting *too* much of it. It seems the higher the quality of food, the less they need of it, but again, I'm not totally positive on that.

I agree with Jimmy, food change, stress of new home and possible over feeding. We have a lot of new folks here lately, so pardon me for not remembering how old your pup is, and also how much are you feeding, of each, and how many times a day? Fromm is an excellent choice, I will add that if you have had any issues on the Iams as far as tummy upset and you are switching to the grain inclusive Fromm that may also be a possibility, so which Fromm are you switching too? So a little more info will help. I will also mention having a few cans of pure pumpkin, not the pie filling, it typically helps firm up the poops, especially during the food transition, a tablespoon twice a day, can be mixed in the food should help.

Of course - she is 8 months now and about 28 lbs. Grain free heartland gold Fromm puppy (it also says red meat - it's a bright pink bag) is what we're transitioning to and I'm not sure what variety of Iams she's coming off of - it just came to us in a plastic bag.
We're giving her 1 cup in the morning and 1 in the evening of a 75/25% ratio. I'll try lessening it.
We're also giving her a variety of treats when we work on training. Maybe we should stick to one kind at a time.

The amount of food seems fine, she is transitioning from being a puppy to an adult, yet she is pretty small, so I would stick to the two cups and your transition. I would look to the treats, stick to one kind and try and get grain free, or you can use kibble instead of treats. The other idea is maybe the treats have a lot of liver or is liver if so you may want to use them as high value treats and then maybe kibble as your main training treats, liver when fed too much and the pup isn't used to it can also cause pudding poop. The Fromm is an excellent choice, so very good, you can after a bag or two start switching over to their adult grain free, she is close enough to an appropriate age to go to adult/all life stage and that will open up more protein choices for her.
