Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hello all!

I am a new (soon to be) husky owner! My boyfriend and I will be welcoming a sweet little wolf grey and white puppy into our home on February 4th. She is currently about five weeks old, but we had the fortune to meet her while we were visiting to put down our deposit! Of course, I managed to capture some photos:

We have decided to name her Eski, and we are just counting down the days (18 to be exact!) until we can bring our baby home.

I am sure I will be posting on here for advice, as we are new husky parents. She will be our first dog together, but I have a bit of experience raising other breeds of dogs.

I know this will be quite an adventure, but we are so lucky to have a whole community to help us along this journey!

Welcome to this great forum and congrats soon to be husky owner!  She sure is cute.  This forum has been a great wealth of knowledge for me the short time I've been here.  I've had other breeds of dogs too, small and large, but Lucy is my first Husky.  Boy...I thought I was prepared after doing research, but I had no idea what I signed up for lol, good luck!

That's the same way I felt about Mika before AND after we brought her home. I grew up with huskies literally since the day I was born. But my fiance has never had such a strong willed and high energy dog before. He is a cat person first and foremost. But he heard me talk about huskies a lot, so he wanted to take the challenge lol. We never looked back. We hope that you have so many good memories with your new girl. There's nothing quite like a new puppy in the household for sure.
