Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I was just thinking back on all the worries I had when Simon was a puppy. He was a little bit of a resource hog as a puppy but after a bit of just slowly working on it he grew out if it. He went through periods of being nervous about strange people and would scream when I left him. He was a crazy hyper puppy but now we can live in a tiny place with no yard for months at a time and just take him on walks and he is amazing.
Granted he is still a husky and will back talk me all the time or try to take off after a squirrel but so much better than my crazy puppy boy.

SO for all of those of you with young or even worse teenager puppies trust me it gets better your hard work and consistency will pay off.

Side note Simon is a big fan of me going to school we walk around the college a lot and he is the biggest attention hog for anyone who wants to pet him.

I think sometimes we forget how versatile our dogs really are because they can be so nutty but it truly is a testament to man and beast working together. Our dogs are versatile but we also have to be just as versatile and committed to helping them work in every situation.

Agreed, Gabby has lived/moved to 4-5 places in the 3 years we have had her and never has had many issues in adapting to the new locations. We traveled a decent amount when we first got her so it made her get used car rides and going new places.

For reference where on where she has lived and how long
Indianapolis: ~ 6 months
Georgia (Fiancee's Moms): ~1.5 months
Springfield, MO: ~4 months
Almont, MI: ~5 months
Springfield Again: ~2 months
Gaineville, GA: ~4 months
Almont Again: ~9 months
Gainesville Again: End of Almont to current time

My Fiancee and I kind of had joint custody of her so we would each take her for a while in each location but Gabby has always taken it in stride and picks up on the rules of each location fairly quickly other than my Fiancee's mom's. There seem to be no rules there for her. It doesn't help that she has 3 dogs that can pretty much do anything so they make her misbehave.

They seem to adapt well and if people are not making a big deal of it they don't seem to think it's a big deal either.
