Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| So Sky has been wrecking the house this past couple of days including tearing bags of rubbish inside the house and outside the house! She has been walked and fed so dont know why she is ripping house apart...
She has chew toys an all but has them in shreds. Could she be teething at 2 and half years old lol |

| It sounds like you have a bored and frustrated Husky on your hands. Without knowing your dog or your habits, I have to ask. How long of a walk are you taking her on, do you take her for more than one walk per day? Is she crate trained? Does she have a "hard" chew toy, such as a Kong-type toy? Is she being played with or challenged?
Out of all the dogs I have ever had, Huskies are by far the most confounding. I have been blessed with a relatively calm Husky. However, I have seen the results of a bored Husky. They can seem malicious and vengeful, but they really aren't. Being intelligent, stubborn, and VERY high energy dogs will lead them to find a way to vent their energy.
I really don't think that at 2 years your dog is teething. |

| I would agree with what Mark said.
Basic answer:
Up the exercise you are giving your dog this will help get out all that energy.
Get some good high quality chews such as antlers or raw bones that take some time and energy. |

| Seasons can affect the energy level of your dog too. Sadly, humans and huskies don't really agree on the weather. The colder it gets the more energy my husky seems to have. 70 degrees and he's willing to walk as much as I'll take him, but he's not really craving it. 30 degrees and he wants all the walks I'm willing to do and more. -20 degrees and he wants to run a marathon while I'd rather not even look out a window. |
