Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Looking for a new home for my 3 year old male Husky Empty
PostSubject: Looking for a new home for my 3 year old male Husky   Looking for a new home for my 3 year old male Husky EmptyThu Mar 30, 2017 11:40 pm

Hi everyone,

Due to certain circumstances, we need to find our 3 year old Siberian Husky "Sampson" a new home. We rescued Sampson about 2 years ago, and he had some minor behavioral issues, like being withdrawn and not showing the husky type friendliness that we all know and love; but he was never aggressive or harmful to any members of the family (we have a few toddlers running around). Over time he has really come out of his shell and now you wouldn't think that he ever had issues becoming friendly with people. So why would we need to find him a new home? The problem is with our husky we had prior to getting Sampson.

Our husky that we introduced sampson to is another older male; his name is Flash, and he is the most friendly and loving dog when it comes to people. When it comes to sampson, it is a very different story. Flash has an extreme alpha type personality and that will lead to fighting and will bring about bad behaviors in both dogs, but especially in sampson; mainly in the form of digging out, destroying our fence, ignoring the invisible fence, peeing in the house, the list goes on and on.

We have tried every solution, even had a behavioral therapist for dogs come and try to help us, but nothing has really changed. So here we are. We have posted and asked friends if they can take him, and we've tried a few overnight stays but none have been a good fit. So we would like to know if there are any husky rescues in the Northern Virginia area that we could turn to, or if anyone here is looking for a great husky! We have more pictures and info available upon request.
